My friend staying at Lor 33 Geylang also cost 2k+ per month  nod.gif

Geylang is a good place, lots of food and very near town. So, it's not really surprising that rental is comparable to town.

For 1st timer entering Sg to work, print out IPA letter help reduce the question you get from the immigration officer.  smile.gif

One can enter to Sg on normal white card, but print out the IPA letter no harm also, still need it for EP collection.
*
typically, they don't ask much. All your details are in the system anyway.

Malaysians used to be preferred in Singapore, but nowadays employers treat us Malaysians no different than other FTs. The Chinese, Philippinoes, Indians all willing to work more for less pay and we are competing with these people.
*
Of coz Malaysians are treated no different form other FTs if your skill are the same and nothing to shout about.

Nope, I tend to disagree.

You lost the freedom to scoop your own fav dishes and need to queue a long way.

They should adopt Malaysia approach.

No wonder, Singapore mindset is queue, queue, queue. Even buying newspapers at a sundry shop also need to queue 3 mins because they MUST only pay to a dedicated staff
*
you know what they say, go back to your own country if you don't like it. period. come sg for what if you can't even accept the system.

Hello all, I'm finally settled down in SG now and start my new job soon.

Just a question to all, if your lodging doesn't provide wifi, what is the best option to get internet service and roughly how much per month?

I was planning to get an internet dongle + a wifi router instead, but not sure whether do any ISP provide such service?

Any recommendation please?

Please advise.

TQVM

O&G experience in what? Chemical or Mechanical engineer? I heard (while I'm pumping petrol for customers) that they look mainly for fresh grads only with Bachelor Degree, top of the class also. If your fren wanna work as Petrol Station Pump Attendant, then maybe got opening. SGD2k/months with benefit.

Starting new job in Oct. Found a place to rent in JB temporary at Bukit Indah area. Try commuting via 'carpool' for a few months then see how. If cannot tahan the commute then rent a room in SG.
Anyone using 'carpool' services here? Anything I should be aware of??

*
well, find things to do in the car while enjoying the endless jam.
