QUOTE(abcdefcuk @ Apr 28 2010, 03:54 AM) Yup. The one who left in Dec was CYKIT. You still surviving eh? Most of the A8 fellows are now either on notice or left already. At this rate, we'll probably have enough fingers to count our AMs by end of this year |

QUOTE(abcdefcuk @ May 4 2010, 06:57 PM) no one just got back from secondment except for YEE isnt it? Well, a very good director had just return from secondment to PPD, heard he's a nice guy too. Yep. When we first merge, there were more of us from A8 than A3. Both headcounts in terms of seniors and assistants. But now, both way has changed drastically. The thing is the fun factor in auditing has disappeared as compared to pre-merge times. People in the dept has become far too individualistic. I heard that during the old times in the old building, A8 people used to have lunch together in a big group and birthdays are celebrated too in the dept. Its like one big family during those days. Turnover rate was one of the lowest among all the depts in KPMG and considered to be the best dept to work in due to its working culture. Sorry for bringing up the good old times back but this is what I have gathered from my A8 seniors that I had the honour and privilege to work with. In fact, the whole lot were A8 people QUOTE Well, i wouldnt say the dept's standard has fallen. Its not nice to say it this way seeing there are more A3 ppls now ma. A3 are always more superior than us I couldn't help but laugh |

QUOTE(Topace111 @ May 6 2010, 11:13 PM) If put that under our own KPI lo, can choose one. I also forgot my own personal KPI. If you guys manage to win your categories, then its all good and dandy. How about when you suffer an embarrassing defeat? ie your hockey team got trashed 5-0 or something like that Anyway given a choice who wants to work. Dont want to think when those for acca & ICAew students going off, luckily CPA just came back. |

QUOTE(eyhc89 @ May 15 2010, 11:24 AM) At least 9 months before you can be considered for promotion. I heard it was a minimum of 10 months, unless you are very exceptional and the managers recommend you to be promoted. The thing is KPMG has abolished the rank of AA1 and AA2 leaving all as just Associates. So you'll just get the increment at the end of the day.I've received KP's conditional offer a few days ago. Dept K I hope, I haven't accepted it yet Congrats, well you should be rejoining Audit K as you were a VT there. Its fair to say that Audit K is currently the most stable department in KPMG and to say it is the best is not an overstatement. You can see it by the way they treat the VTs. |

QUOTE(eyhc89 @ May 15 2010, 11:18 PM) Thanks. My senior told me that there were a few (maybe just one or two) previous VTs of K being posted to P instead. Well, we know the situation. Let's hope that I'm not one of them. I'm thinking of working in Singapore/Australia. Still undecided. You should insist on remaining in K. If not, there are still many choices out there. The partner was saying that the job market in Singapore is opening up again so this is a good time to work there. QUOTE(piggylov3r @ May 16 2010, 02:00 AM) I got offer from KPMG and the contract is ready for me to sign. Just wanna ask, of all audit department, which is best and which is worst? Saw previous post there is people saying P is worst? How true is it? Which department offered you? |

QUOTE(eyhc89 @ May 16 2010, 10:17 PM) Ohh, I get it now. Thanks. That's not too bad, at least we're recognised by increment, it's still better than the other way round (getting the title but not the increment Well, I know some who stayed as AA2 for nearly two years before getting promoted to AA1, so you wonder why they did not get promoted at the first place. The term 'screw up' can be defined in many ways. I'll use a simple example. You propose a figure adjustment to the client because your calculation differs greatly from the client's accounts. You insist on the client taking up the adjustment and eventually they do. Later on, you found out that the difference in the calculation was actually down to your own casting error. This would mean that the client need to reverse the adjustment out in the next financial year. In short, you screwed up. The following year's team would have to incur the wrath of the client I will still apply for jobs in Singapore. I hope my results are good enough to qualify for Singapore's standard (if there's any difference). And thanks again for the info! Good luck then |

QUOTE(eyhc89 @ May 17 2010, 02:15 PM) I thought AA2 usually works under a senior-in-charge, or at least an AA1? Don't the senior-in-charge bear the same responsibility or worse, heavier if this was the case? Basically the whole team would need to take the blame. However, if heads must roll, do you think your seniors would rather lose their head to protect yours? In the end, if that error occurs in the working paper bearing your initial, then you will shoulder most of the blame. Its a dog eat dog world |

QUOTE(Raymond_ACCA @ May 22 2010, 01:13 PM) Increment in June? Last time I check, my promotion+increment in Dec (Jan) wor... Wah, means this round, we will have another increment in June? sure or not? Usually promotion means additional responsibility, hence increase in salary as well... Lol, I dun know abt other depts but M's partner-in-charge announce in an email that all those join the dept last year but did not get promoted at the year end would be given increment as a way to compensate them. If the old policy still exist, those who join in May-Sep last year would have been promoted this coming June. So its fairer la to at least compensate them in monetary terms. In addition, I think those top performers would also be given increment in order to retain them judging by the recent senior turnover rate in my dept. We even lost several jobs to your dept, G or should I say, temporary loan Can't wait to see see my new pay slip muahahahaha. Well, anyways still 1 month plus till its announce. |
