My deluded thinking:Arsenal win the league this seasom
Realistic Thinking:Arsenal get 3rd or 4th this season again

I think its better to be realistic, compare to the rich loaded club of Manchester city and Chelsea, its not possible Arsenal compete for the title this season

I am hopeful that 3-5 years later, another Saudi rich ******* buy Arsenal, then maybe we could compete for the title...but 3rd or 4th is already a good position to be in as BPL is one of the top league in the world

The most brokenheart game for Arsenal is against Manchester United,Arsenal played so well for the whole game yet lose to Man Utd,although the defense were not very good that game if we had to pick a weakness but the defense still snatch back most ball that we had to get back,so really heartbreaking to not even get a point

still not impress with him but its good to have 1st choice RB back to the team..

What about welbeck or giroud??we can still snatch 1st place if BVB lose,If draw this game, maybe we could face Real Madrid,Barcelona or bayern and it's probably gonna be very very tough

Yea,the results is important but the way the game is played is more important,I like to see when we are controlling the ball, passing all around and attacking,it's nice to watch, especially when put pressure slowly on other team, haha

Watched the video,it looks like mertesacker had a bad game, and the one pundit says that football is about helping each other out in a match, and Arsenal hasn't done that in Stock City...hopefully tonight Arsenal will have a better game...

No matter which team we'll get (well, hopefully not BM/RM), I hope by that time our injuries problem has ended and we can field our best XI.
*
Yea,your right, doing the best for yourself rather than worrying about which strong opponent we get is the right mindset...debuchy had returned,Sanchez Ramsey on fire with welbeck also on our side,we could give stronger opponent a tough time, remember we drew BM not long ago,we could still do it once more and with a bit more luck we could even beat them...

Haha, never forget, ozil is of natural talent, just hope he doesn't leave Arsenal,he's been very good with his passing game when he's available...if I had a team would play him ahead of Fabregas,he's got passing skill addon with dribbling

Dribbling??? Dribbling skill?? Ozil?

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL. *falls off chair, rolls on the floor and laugh*

He certainly has the vision to pick out passes or to deliver delicious through balls, but I wouldn't say dribbling is one of his skills..
Most times, he can't even maintain possession when he has the ball with him (always lose it to opponent after being pressured, because he is way too soft for BPL).

But anyway, I can't wait for him to return as well. Wanna see Sanchez + Ozil combo. Or Ozil + Walcott also. or Ozil + Welbeck/Giroud.
*
So many combo to try if most arsenal player is not injured, really exciting times for Arsenal

Anyone watched the match west ham vs Swansea last week,I thought our loanee Carl jenkinson was awesome,he got a assist to which Andy Carroll scored a goal,I hope Wenger don't call him back this season let him gain confidence in west ham and return to Arsenal and play next season with more maturity...

Yeah, but the thing is it'll never happen with our rate of players getting injured/per game.
Agreed, I've seen him do some fancy footworks in the matches before, it works only until opponents put pressure on him. If he manages to be tougher and stand his ground, he'll be able to pass defenders quite easily. It's also his mentality I would say, when he gets pressured and he falls down or something, he always look at the ref to award him with a foul. But it's the BPL, soft touches wont be awarded as fouls as easily as other leagues.

Can only hope after being out for so long, he has improved physically and mentally.
*
Yea,our injury rate is scary, but luckily our squad is very in depth

Haha, falling down looking at the ref maybe is just s natural reflexes for some player,it's not a good reflexes though

Atletico, Porto, Monaco and PSG (if top of their group) are harder opponents than Bayern, Real and Barcelona bcoz its harder to predict which team will progress. If the latter 3, then it'll be easier to expect to outcome. laugh.gif
*
I rather we get athletico,Porto Monaco or PSG,although only progress one level but if we ever look back into history it's another quarter final champions league qualification...

Guys, wanna ask your opinion. Which would you choose in these 2 situations?

A: Arsenal make it to last 16 of champions league, but then fall out later and couldn't make it to quarterfinals.

B: Arsenal didn't make it past group stages of champions league, enter Europa league, then proceed to win the europa league.

So, would you choose A or B? include reasons too!
*
Personally,I pick A just feels A has better prospect

Even if you win the Europa league,it's just not as good as making it to the last 16...there is reason why team that can't make it through the UCL group stage got a chance for the less prestigious Europa league

Let's say Arsenal and liverpool in UCL same group,Arsenal got number 2 after all the group games and Liverpool got third and was RELEGATED to Europa league but went on to win it,Arsenal still had better ranking inside the UCL group and had got better group result than liverpool...at least Arsenal didn't get relegated...

hmm, but then you get nothing out of it. Make it past group stages only to be knocked out the next round, then that's it.

But if B however, it's 1 step lesser than A (in terms of progress in the CL competition) but if manage to enter europa and win it, you walk away with a cup? Then get to enter UEFA Super Cup too and vs the CL winner.

Yeah I know Europa is less prestigious compared to UCL. But then again, if only make it to last 16 and then exit UCL.

What/How much more "prestigious" is it than Europa then? Of course quarterfinals and semifinalists dont apply in this situation because to progress to that stage of UCL itself is a different level already.

Interesting food for thought..

For me personally, I can't decide. On the fence for this.
*
That's a good reason too...didn't know there is a UEFA super cup,it's interesting...

I think UCL a lot more viewer and money on term, than Europa League...
