 download files, multiple save locations

Hopefully someone who used macs for a long time can help me out...

I want to be able to save my downloaded files to different folders as opposed to having it go to one default folder only... i find movin the files frm the default locale to the place i want it to be to be quite taxing... can anyone help?

btw, i tried automator but am juz completely clueless abt how to make automator move my files for me...

Take a look at the download dialog box and you can see a reverse triangle next to the current download location. Jz click on it and you can browse and specify where to save.

Wei you do make a good use of Automator biggrin.gif Actually as for me I just adjust the download location ic Safari to anywhere I want and then, Bump! all the other application will also follow Safari, it's amazing. At least, it works for me smile.gif

Update: IT WORKS!... totally cool...
Dont mean to be a pain but can i make it autorun in the background?....

Uncheck "Show Action When Run" for all 3 actions. Save it as an application.
Make another automation by telling finder to open the application you just saved.

you can mix match as u like. just dun worry to try. once u get an idea with it, you can do more wonderful stuff.

Used to be a bit more tricky with AppleScript. Now with Automator its much more easy.

 

Change to:
| Lo-Fi Version
0.0159sec    0.43    5 queries    GZIP Disabled
