Good shot ... BUT ... the pic dun speak for itself. A good image is one that speaks for itself and clearly defines the photographer's intention. Not my 2 cents, but an advice smile.gif

Red CB, never seen those before (sorry, very sakai) sad.gif

And errr ... where is the kangaroo's pouch? tongue.gif

beehawk, for outside macro shots.. try a f/16 aperture with a -0.3/0.7 compensation. works great.

Night shots are not easy to do.

Just that the final lamp post (on the right), brighter than others (kacau). Or else, it will be one nice shot from your camera. Bravo! thumbup.gif

I dun really know ALL of them actually, only those I am close to. I am not a walking modelling agency tongue.gif

Shooting in exhibitions takes some kinda common sense and some experience as well. It's like ... well ... i.e you KNOW you cannot use your handphone in a cinema coz it will disturb other people, you're not supposed to bring your pets into a shopping complex, and ... if it's a private function, you KNOW you will need a invitation to get in. Simple as that.

Generally ... places/events that allow photography are :
1. Public Exhibitions i.e IT Fair, PC Fair, WCGM, KLIMS, etc.
2. Promotional Fairs i.e KLIMS, DEX, IDEX,etc.
3. Roadshows i.e Super GT, F1, MotoGP, A1 GP, AMF, MSS, etc.
4. Motorsports Events i.e F1, Super GT, MME, MSS and MotoGP held in SIC.
5. Fashion Shows, Car Shows, Hair Shows and Fashion Parades
6. Other events that involves family outings in public parks or public get-togethers, photography are allowed of course.

some need to buy ticket to go in rite??
but very interesting ler........btw, how do u get the info on the events? u keep track on ur calendar or something??

oh ya, can explain some of the basic rules / things i should know about the angle and composition?? asking a pro is better than going thru tonnes of information on the net. i read some but not much. cos they cover other things as well. and asking from ppl with experience will have much better understanding and trying to understand alone. cos u guys does goes thru alot of photo taking sessions. notworthy.gif

No need to keep track on any calender. For example : If you have 40+ numbers of event girls and models in your phone and each ONE of them tells you TWO of their jobs per month which you can shoot ... you will have at least 80 events to goto. If you narrow down those that you cannot shoot or those you cannot attend becoz of work, you will still have at least half a dozen events to goto. If it's a quiet month and girls are jobless, there's at least few events I can still attend. They inform me by SMS so it's all recorded.

Oh well, if it's a quiet month for the girls and they ARE jobless, we shoot them and pay them some money lor whistling.gif tongue.gif

23 : Macro Shot (Flower)

This pic is nice. You might want to get more closer to the object, as it is not really very clear. Macro flower, we might wanna see the petal more close. Yellow flower with green background, not easy, as both colours dont give a lot of contrast.
Its just my idea. I like most of your pics.

ic ic... notworthy.gif thanks for ur comments, still learning ler........however, my camera has been limited with 1 cm macro...not 0 cm...but i think can be achieved with me cropping the flower i think.....make it looks bigger a bit....will try more when i manage to find the flower to macro again.....currently bz working ler....no time to go out.........if not mistaken that flower shot was taken last year, on the time i go FRIM to survey for the camp site......

actually was thinking another thing also....does those macro filters helps in macro shots.......any one have tried those macro filter b4??

Hard to say ler!
Well, you pic 41, just fits right, the colour combination and the length of each segment is getting slightly bigger and bigger (dark orange, orange...and so on).

if not mistaken this is taken when i was in the vehicle.....the window was a bit wet.

Doesn't seem like the lense flare ar??
hehe

OK. something out of topic a bit.....
actually so far i got one question ler.....is anything/any object can be snapped into a nice photo or need to do some setting up like place some other thing to it to make the picture look nice...

i mean like, is there a way to snap something which is not nice to be nice?
cos happens to me a lot....keep snapping, in the end cant get what i wanted. so was thinking could it be that object is not nice even at any position you are taking from...
for example....er; rubbish bin!
can snap nice one ar?? just an eg ar...i haven try snapping any rubbish bin b4....

Nice shot as well. Background can be taken into consideration, to have more contrast. And the red flower if take the whole flower, could be better.

i like the the Red Lanterns..it looks nice to me...
i think some of ur pic should hv a better composition.

for "Playground with KL as Background" the tree at the right handside is distracting..include it or ignore it....i oso always get this kind of mistake... hehe...

for the lonely..i think it will be better if u used a wide angle..
anyways nice pic u hv there...and good effort... notworthy.gif

ic ic...thanks....
was still trying to understand composition.....still cant fully understand as its very very subjective...

yeap, the tree is a bit distracting...din notice it b4 this...haha...thanks for highlighting it up..

i do have a wide angle...but if not mistake that pic was taken on moving vehicle....not enough time to chunk in my wide angle....now cant do much already.....unless i can add some fake skies in and make it looks wider....
smile.gif

but, what do u mean to have more contrast?
very less flower target for me to snap..hehe...will try again another time....
Brighter background for your rose picture would be good. e.g. white background. Your rose is red, and background black/dark, didnt bring out the object(rose) much.

since last time i learn some desaturation trick from kokuryo, i tried this on a set of photos...same place, dif time...actually pretty much the same time....
got the ktm and the putra line...but putra line cant be made outstanding due to its color that camouflage with the desaturated background...

WARNING! HIGH VOLUME PHOTOs IS LOADING! 56k Bewarn!

thanks....glad u like them...spend some free time to do it...takes times with PS
If u ask me how i do it in photoshop, i can answer u that i learn from kokuryo.
Select the area, invert selection, desaturate, and you are done...

but if u ask me how i snap the picture, i wait at that point, just keep snapping, using continuous mode.....snap snap snap....there it is
oh btw, i placed my camera on the fence. hehe..
that's all i guess...
nothing much about that..

If I am not mistaken, BULB is a shutter speed setting. It lengthens the exposure time. Nice PS job.

magic wand....you just select the object u wanted.....use the shift to add more location u want to select....
that's the only way i did...i end up speeding up the task by using the lasso....
quick job that magic for some point...
mostly i use the magic wand...
good luck PSing

thanks....glad u like them...spend some free time to do it...takes times with PS
If u ask me how i do it in photoshop, i can answer u that i learn from kokuryo.
Select the area, invert selection, desaturate, and you are done...

but if u ask me how i snap the picture, i wait at that point, just keep snapping, using continuous mode.....snap snap snap....there it is
oh btw, i placed my camera on the fence. hehe..
that's all i guess...
nothing much about that..

did i answer ur question?

highest aperture in what i mean is to use the max aperture that can be set on the camera using manual setting....in DSLR i am not sure if that is the focus or not......i know its related....
like my camera can be set as low as 3.2 to 8.0.....cant recall is it called F...
rusty a bit dis few days......as long as related with how small the eyes of the lense is, then that is what i am trying to mean....by setting the highest, u get lesser lights in...

but your post might get more people there though. I posted it in the main board. But I ended up using those drink bottles, and cup noodle er, cups to make mine, sturdier and lasts longer.

BTW, do you sharpen your images after resizing them? They looked a bit soft on the edges, especially the 91 and 92. Also, try for a faster shutter speed to minimise camera shake
Very beautiful night scenes, where did you go to attain such great height. Love the curve on the wide angle, but a bit of distortions to the sides.

once i have those 58 mm filters on..and i use the flash...the place will have the thing similar to my wide angle lense...
dark shadow of my filter....
the flash is not pop up...
that's the problem....
any tips for me?? the camera is dimage z20
My Camera Model : KM Dimage Z20

by seeing the camera design, i am sure u can imagine how it looks like with the filter fitted in front...like small getting bigger...

there was a website that I saw uses a diy tube to direct the flash. they just lined the inside of the tube with aluminium foil, shiny side up, works sort of like a fiber optic cable.

need to show some pic only can make u understand....cos teh filter is blocking the flash direct point...so, when it flash, first thing it hits is the filter....which is much wider....58mm....so, it will cause a dark shadow spot on the picture....
just at the bottom of the pic...which is center...
later i find some pic i show it here
