Actually at what wattage rating one would normally consider his ICE as SPL setup? I mean there must be some kind of borderline between SQ and SPL? I dont want to waste money on the unused power by buying high rated one.

The thing is I plan to get good SQ + decent SPL setup but quite reluctant to go too far as to spend extra for upgrading alternator, adding secondary battery, those huge caps, other whatnot etc etc.. Issit possible? I learnt that grounding cable is a must so besides that I only plan on getting good component set, amps and sub+box as got quite tight budget around 2k at max. So which watt range should I aim, that consider safe for my battery health without those power upgrades?
