QUOTE(Starscream666 @ Apr 27 2015, 02:20 PM) can anyone telll me how long does number porting take? say u opt for porting from digi to maxis on friday last week, i was told it will be 10 days? really ? No, that's your telco pulling a fast one on you. If you have no outstanding payment or issues it takes a matter of 2 to 3 working days or less. I would call DiGi and bug them to expedite the process.

QUOTE(mushaslater @ May 20 2015, 01:42 PM) Hye guys. I have a question since i am not sure about something. If I purchase contract 2 years for maxis, does it mean i have to use the iphone for two years? or could i possibly sell the iphone in one year and use the sim with another phone that i have not bought with maxis? or would that not be possible? can the iphone be used with other carriers or is it locked to my number? thanks in advance. Frankly, if you dislike the phone, you can sell it off the next day for all they care. You just need to stick with the plan you signed up for for 2 years, otherwise the penalty is quite hefty. The iPhones sold in Malaysia are not locked to any carriers.

QUOTE(Angel01 @ May 20 2015, 08:06 AM) Hi guys, i was thinking of getting the iValue 1 package for 12 months contract. with the iphone 6 64 gb. What is the difference actually between the 12 month and 24 months contract? By the way i am already a maxis user, do i still need to pay cash advance? If not mistaken the difference is that 24 months contract will get you the phone for about RM 300.00 cheaper than compared to a 12 months contract. Bear in mind that a longer contract would mean you don't have the flexibility to switch plans or telcos for a longer period. If you've been with maxis for more than a year then chances are advanced payment will be waived.

QUOTE(piscesguy @ Jun 21 2015, 08:44 AM) Got a carrier update, now signal showing 4G instead of LTE. So any different in technical term? Yup, mine shows 4G now as well. Shouldn't be any difference I guess.

QUOTE(kaspersky-fan @ Jun 28 2015, 01:30 AM) This is quite a risky update. Have you guys read this from apple? https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201673It says that, 4G network could be a higher speed of HSDPA network or LTE (on the GSM models). This shows that if the status bar on your iphone shows "4G", it need not be an genuine LTE connection. However, if your phone's status bar showed "LTE", it means you are using the true LTE speed connection. I did notice when I put in celcom sim, I get 4G on my status bar, but with maxis it is LTE. Kinda confusing actually. Still figuring out why the sudden change to 4G instead of LTE, to hide distinctions between 3.75G (HSDPA+) and true LTE speed ? Best thing to do would be to go directly to maxis to clarify, but I have to say I don't notice any speed differences from when my phone was showing LTE and now when it is showing 4G.

QUOTE(IsaacLiew52 @ Jun 29 2015, 03:55 PM) Hey guys, I heard that now celcom are now offer the Iphone 6 (16gb) for rm238 per month. Extra 3gb+3gb and 200minute call and sms. Is it consider worth to subscribe? Look attractive. 238 per month includes phone? Duration of contract? If it's 24 months, 238 x 24 = RM 5,712. Oh, and maybe try asking at the Celcom iPhone thread This post has been edited by attw: Jun 29 2015, 04:46 PM

QUOTE(IsaacLiew52 @ Jun 29 2015, 04:50 PM) yea, but also you pay for the plan. I notice the plan also got the optimizer. 2GB Internet + 2GB complimentary Celcom WiFi or UNLIMITED Calls and SMS to all networks. 3gb+3gb now the optimizer give you extra 2+2gb total is 10gb per month. Suit for heavy data user like me can dl video all day long. The call also looks attractive. If you really use that much data and calls, then I suppose so. But bear in mind the iPhone 6 16GB costs RM2,702 without contract, so the other RM3,000 or so you pay goes to the telco. Might worth reconsidering. Anyways, best ask the folks at the Celcom thread... https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3385570/+980

QUOTE(sandrawong912 @ Jul 1 2015, 02:40 PM) Oh, I saw this on celcom website too. They have two optimizer, another one is unlimited free call and sms to all network. This the things that got me attracted because I used to make short call. But is this really that good? Anyone subscribe to this plan? Pls share... This being a maxis thread I doubt you'll get the answers you're looking for. Try the Celcom iPhone thread as per the link above. Cheers.
