I did get a "Carrier Update" today on my Maxis. And my phone shows 4G instead of LTE already. Not sure if network is faster though. Havent tried. But some say that Maxis is testing is full 4G capabilities in some areas. Keep us posted if anyone notices an increase in network speed.Even the cellular menu no longer have LTE as an option. Carrier is now 'Maxis 20.1' |

This is quite a risky update. Have you guys read this from apple?
https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201673 It says that, 4G network could be a higher speed of HSDPA network or LTE (on the GSM models). This shows that if the status bar on your iphone shows "4G", it need not be an genuine LTE connection. However, if your phone's status bar showed "LTE", it means you are using the true LTE speed connection. I did notice when I put in celcom sim, I get 4G on my status bar, but with maxis it is LTE. Kinda confusing actually. Still figuring out why the sudden change to 4G instead of LTE, to hide distinctions between 3.75G (HSDPA+) and true LTE speed ? |
