New owner PEB 2015, Black. Just done my first 1000km service at Section 13, PJ. The location is near to my work place, the waiting area is big and nice. It would be nice if the car can be attended promptly, as still got abit of wait time when I'm there for the earlies appointment.
The other thing that I miss out and felt abit cheated that when I pay I found out the the EO used was Syntium 800 Semi. Was expecting fully like Syntium 1000. The explanation that was provided that all of their service, used semi and only fully when requested. I know part of my mistake is that I should have ask, but didn't expect also that they didn't explain. Lesson learn and also was mentioned S800 can use up to 10K km, can anyone verified? Any owner just did first service with S800, and is it RM 160+ ?
At this point, will point out 1 issue the car have come out (more on QC). The inner / inside part of the front right side dashboard have rattling sound, obvious when going through uneven roads and yellow lines. Didn't have the time to leave the car there to be rectify and hate / sad for the new car to start dismantle.
Other thing observe but not sure is consider a problem or not:
1. Can't get the breaking ABS out, breaking at 80kmh and 100kmh, the car will stop with good breaking (very short distance, that I like) but can't get the ABS engage.
2. When the car slow accelerate and then release the paddle, the car felt that small jerk with some small sound, not sure if this a the car problem or the characteristic of the car.
At this point satisfied with the car with the space, comfort and speed / acceleration (although only go 80kmh, and will try more after this first service)
edit: recheck the forum and last few pages that alexei provided the link / information on car service and that stated the use of the EO Semi Synthetic.

2. The CVT in the EB is metal push-belt type, so when you accelerate and let go, there is some slack and free play sound in the CVT, like 'guk guk guk'.
that is a very accurate explanation.
weird, after service the car doesnt felt like the same, engine slightly noisy and not so smooth
you sure thats the problem? Mine EB 2015 had noise too when accelerate slowly n let go. Ask SC to check in the end they identified its a gearbox mounting problem. After changing it no noise at all... Accordingly common problem for EB 2015 model.
Hmm, then I need to check again with them, let me drive abit more and identified a few more issues. Can I know when you mentioned that change, check the whole gear box or change the mounting?
I will try to take the car this week or next week for them to check on the mounting issue, now getting abit serious, can fell abit vibration when slowing down, not sure is it related.
yup, that is the 2 things that you felt due to the problem. After driving longer hours coming back from office, the pull back feeling still there, not as bad, but the sound not longer there.
is this the recommended tyre pressure for stock size ? I find it low and putting in 36 for both front and back, also notice better FC.
Another question at 100km/h, what is the reading on RPM? Mine is getting in between 2200 - 2400 RPM, and feel that with SAT on, the RPM slightly lower.
This week, I'm getting a very good FC due to the better traffic during this festive season, from Full tank, full city drive getting around 10.5L, as my car still new around 3K milage (I read before around here that the full efficient can be see after 10K service)
Over the weekend travel to Penang, really have fun driving. The power is at the 'foot tip' and use it when needed too. The cruising fuel consumption are nice too, but only going max at 140 as have elders and small kid onboard. I notice the Cruise control have lower RPMat the same speed compare to normal driving, but up and down hill, cruise control is not advisable as it can have high RPM out of no where.
Driving the D-Drive and S-Drive, I overall prefer S-Drive as is more able to control (yes tiring in a way) but have lower RPM usage on the same speed and better fuel consumption, even when come back to city drive i still use S-Drive.
So if I go to my nearest SC and complain about the vibration, noises, and gearbox humming sound, they will change the engine mounting?
not sure we are getting confuse here, the problem I have on the sound, slight vibration and pull back is gearbox mounting and NOT engine mounting.

I think like hantu this engine mounting issue... i just felt weird yesterday as the vibration during idle was stronger than usual... now this... I think I know what to do next.
Wait... So the cause of the vibrations throughout the cabin is caused by what???
Sorry, think you need you have your explanation again, for us to help.
For the gear box mounting, that actually dont cause the vibration to the cabin, the cause is that when you slowly accelerate and let go the accelerator, the car do actually pull back / jerk and also a "keak" sound.
The first problem is what you have described. Accelerate and letting go of accelerator = car will jerk a little bit. Plus there is a whining sound at low speeds (especially during slow moving crawls / jams)
Second problem is the glovebox and cabin got quite abit of vibration noise during acceleration. This I previously did not think it was a problem since I thought "Proton cars typically after awhile got funky noises here and there"
For the first one sure is the gearbox mounting issue.
For the 2nd one, dont know what causing it, possible do with that. If the car under warranty then just let SC know and let then fix it.
Just send in the car for another round of gear box mounting issue / sound. Change once for the sound and pull back, but now the sound is come back. See what the SC at PJ SS13 can do bout it, hope it will solve the problem permanently.
Uploaded a video, although you can hear the traffic noise from outside, you also can hear the "keak" sound (best to you earphones)
Hi guys, want to know if there is any difference between the 2014 model and 2015 model? I'm from rural area and visited 2 showroom in town... but one told me there is a slight facelift and the other salesman says they are the same..
I am thinking of buying either a second hand 2014 premium or a new 2015 exec .. some advice pls.. thank you brothers sisters
The difference of 2015 vs 2014 (for Premium and Super Premium)
1. ESC vs None 2. 4 Airbags (additional 2 side) vs 2 front airbags 3. LED daytime running lights vs Fog Lights 4. Bronze tinted headlight vs smoked headlights 5. Body Cladding (only for Super Premium) 6. Turbo badge vs CFE badge (at the back - left side) 7. Different design sportrims
Anyone here own year 2014/ 2015 EB model? Mind to share how long you've own, total mileage, F.C. and problem encounter?
Thanks.
2015 Mid May - 6 months old
Mileage: 7000+
FC: 11 - 12L/100km, travelling around Subang, Sunway, PJ using either Federal or LDP.
Problem Encounter: Jerking and sound when slow accelerating. Common problem and fix by Proton. Rattling sound at daskboard, sometimes it's there, sometimes is not. Other than that everything is good.
I did some research around it seems latest promotion includes
-Smart Tag/Touch and go -umbrella -safety tint(according to sales people not very good at light filter just for safety purpose) -some Yes 4G thing... but still have to pay subscription -full tank petrol -steering lock -? mysterious gift(no idea) -If you are civil servant got extra few thousand discount(mine offered 2400)
Went to check car 4 times and tested drive. But got a very rude sales personnel at Proton Bakatmas hence delayed and now having second thoughts
also in the Melaka state where I am checking the cars... they dont give smart tag free... unlike other dealers in other places... not sure why but not a biggie.
if you going for premium version:
-Smart Tag/Touch and go : provide by dealer -umbrella : provide by dealer -safety tint(according to sales people not very good at light filter just for safety purpose) : original EcoTink factory fitted -some Yes 4G thing... but still have to pay subscription : provide by proton and paid 1 year subscription -full tank petrol : provide by dealer -steering lock : provide by dealer
for me I only got umbrella and steering lock from dealer only
For new car, I don't think they(proton sales) include the windshield coverage. But I'll check with the insurance.
The crack is on driver side(image attached). Like a L shape and the crack is keep moving downwards.
Also thinking to claim on the next insurance renewal but still had to wait another 10mth.
same crack as mine, except that mine the line going upwards than you downwards. And during that time, the crack happen only after 2 month of the brand new car and still leaving it as it be.
Got insurance on windscreen as due to it at the side and also block by my handphone holder, will only change when either got worse or near to my next year insurance renewer.
