Of late, I have been seeing many not so smart posts that demand people to spoonfeed them when the answer is very obvious. It's time that we tighten the rules around here.

These rules apply for questions regarding diseases and health problems only, does not affect workout and fitness posts, starting from now.

adapted from the codemasters forum

1. Be more specific
Don't ask general and vague questions. Let us know what it is you want to accomplish and what information you lack to accomplish it. If forum members don't know what you specifically need in your first post, you'll get a lot of idiotic posts resulting in time wasted for everyone, as well as frustration of the mods.

2. This is not a free doctor's forum
Don't ask us to diagnose your problems for you! If your post doesn't show sufficient evidence that you have worked enough on the problem yourself, IT WILL NOT BE ENTERTAINED. If you ask about a medical condition and would like to know how to overcome it, PLEASE POST EVIDENCE THAT YOU DID RESEARCH BEFORE ASKING. An example of what not to do: http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=342160

QUOTE

Please list down.......

Thanks
what to do: something to back up your claims/questions: http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=339964

it might not be a question, but you will be expected to post a link as proof you did research before findings as 90% of the questions posted here already have their answers listed in yahoo or google. Only turn to us when you do not know what to do.

For example if you have an acne problem, you will be expected to, if possible, post a picture of your acne for us to evaulate the severity, and a list of medicines that you GOOGLED that you are not sure what to take.

For specific problems, please include a link from wikipedia to explain to us what is it exactly. We're not doctors so we still need to read up on your condition.

3) USE GOOGLE.
As mentioned earlier. PLEASE THROW YOUR QUESTION TO GOOGLE OR YAHOO BEFORE POSTING. EVIDENCE OF YOU DOING SO WOULD BE A LINK THAT HAS A DIAGNOSE OF YOUR PROBLEM OR POTENTIAL CURES THAT YOU ARE NOT SURE OF, OR A QUOTE FROM A WEBSITE.

4) NO SMARTASSING
Please DO NOT answer a question here that you are not sure about, or have sufficient facts/explainations to support it. For all you know, your answer could be wrong and you may mislead people while making a fool out of yourself. Also, when the problem is solved, or question answered, PLEASE DO NOT REPLY ANYMORE. LEAVE THE THREAD BE. DONT BE A SMARTASS AND POST ADDITIONAL REMEDIES UNLESS YOU THINK THE CURRENT REMEDY IS NOT SUFFICIENT AND YOU HAVE FACTS TO BACK YOURSELF UP. This is not a place for you to bump your postcount.

Thank you and have a nice day smile.gif
