That is a 52cm TT, so a small/medium.  Should be the same size as your bike?  The 21 year old tube exploded the other day, destroying the tyre as well !!  shocking.gif
*
those rubbers wont last long lah bro..lucky nothing happen to you..52cm are likely like my doppel size, and my size of fitment too.unlike folding, buying a roadbike need to learn more about bike fitment so that the bike will fit you nicely!

i might want to sell my 105 crank as the crank arm is 175mm length, and it wont fit me nicely on a roadbike,.unless when put on foldingbike, it doesn't matter much as long as u adjust proper height of your seatpost nicely.

oh ya,
just browsing through doppelganger web,i saw 806 siries of folding roadbike (unlike mine doppelganger premacy - 26er bike).sadly,no dealer here want to bring doppel to malaysia unless u oder it direct japan shakehead.gif

Most of my bikes use these bb. That's a nice find. Do they have anymore ? What length spindle do they have and how much?
*
got it for rm440.and its not cheap actually.forgot about the spindle lenght coz i already i throw away the ugly box.but for what i know before i bought,it can fit my 105 classic biopace that would be transfer later to my speed p8!

and sadly,it only has one unit at the shop..saw 1 duraace square taper bb on sale in fb (roadbike for sale/swap fb group) but that one are older version than mine laugh.gif

Ok, too expensive for me!! I use mainly Shimano ones and have bought them for rm50 from online when on sale, of course not duraace quality but no problems so far.
*
yeah,i know it little bit pricey.u can get seramic type of hollow bb within that budget.but,i can feel the different in weight actually, nearly as light as my ultegra hollow bb.need to test the feel later,is it the same feel like hollow type of bb or a bit different?

the shop i bought said this duraace bb usually people used it in track bike (veledrom bike or so on) cool2.gif will transfer to my speed p8 later brows.gif

QUOTE(jchue73 @ Mar 6 2015, 11:26 AM)
Why still use tapered square? If I were given the chance to change the BB, I'll change to a different one that is more superior.
*
hahaha, nice question.already used hollow type of bb.now try to use square taper type since i already converting my speed p8 for touring purpose.i didnt see any touring bike use any hollow type of crank.. sweat.gif

shimano duraace square taper bb

besides the main reason is,my ultegra groupset on my speed p8 will transfer to my roadbike soon.so i think need to get a pair of good match with my 105 classic biopace crank. laugh.gif

QUOTE(etigge @ Mar 6 2015, 09:18 PM)
Reason on why touring bikes uses square taper is simple. Square taper is available anywhere , even in small kampong bikeshop or any bike shop for that matter. Touring means, you travel everywhere with your bike, like those 'mat sallehs' you see riding with big panniers on the road. If they were to use hollow tech or octal link etc, the parts are hard to source in small towns. Also those common cone bearings bottom bracket uses square tapered spindles , so although quality is not good, at least it will help you to replace temporarily. They also just started to use disc brakes on touring bikes which many tourers don't want to. They still want to stick to V-brakes as they are also easy to source. And if you use hydraulic disc brake systems, stick with Shimano, Tektro or another brand (can't recall which brand) which uses mineral oil while others still uses dot oil. This is because in emergency, you can fill the reservoir with cooking oil to operate the brake.
*
nicely explain bro!!

the lightest and durable square taper bb i can find is this shimano dura ace bb i shown before.i had been asking few of my tourer friend before, they all said if u can find it,bought it as this bb is light, fast and durable!

hollowtech bb?used already and i know how it feels either sram red or shimano ultegra.both good bb, but for touring purpose square taper is a wise choice.unless u care to carry around special tools and spare bb,then u save to touring all the way! laugh.gif

u can achieve 50kmh using 55x11, 451 wheel, at cadence around 110rpm..
on flat... assume zero headwind la....

since most foldie and minivelo have problem installing cadence sensor...

many duno their cadence max out at wht value.... biggrin.gif....
*
wow....ur leg are very strong lah bro.i also cannot pedal 53+11,max i can go 53+12,unless around 1km only other than that i cannot tahan already!

oh ya,speaking of cadence sensor,
any foldie or minivelo that have chainstay can put cadence sensor bro.this is mine

user posted image
strada double wireless, feature cadence reading

few model are quite imposible to install the cadence sensor, that is if i can remember xds, java, volcano, dahon vybe, MUp8 and few more model without chainstay.. cry.gif

biggrin.gif  tht is just an example i gave after getting the cadence from bike calculator, not tht i can cycle at tht setting  biggrin.gif even can hit oso mebe few seconds oni.... biggrin.gif
installing cadence sensor on minivelo or folding bike is a problem even for bike with chain stay cos the wheel 20 inch even 451 is too small.

most manufacture like cateye very lazy they do 2 sensor together like ur strada, some got wire linked both sensors, but still too short.

u need to find one tht is totally separated. so far ive come across  few bike computer who does it. polar is one...

or u can use gps for speed n install the cadence sensor to send the crank... sacrificing the speed sensor...
like this tak bleh.....

this still kenot... mebe can...

If not wrong, you can replace the magnet on the crankarm with flat type neodym magnets such that it sticks at the hole where the pedal is mounted. No need cable tie.
*
IMHO better for me to secure it with cable tie to make it safer.compare to paid for lost magnets, that some price lah.sometimes for a long journey we never know what type of surface we will ride.unless the bike are on trainer than its ok for me biggrin.gif
