Tempting me to go to Thailand to get the Altena. How to get the Altena which cannot be folded as small as the other Dahons safely across by air?
I can only think of flying over to Bangkok and taking a train back to kl. The train ride will take 1 day and 7 hours.

Perhaps just get the 2015 dash and slowly convert it into an Altena. Cheaper and less hassle.

Mini velo fever. I agree with handsomedog the 2014 dash color is really awful.
*
if u wan minivelo... there are non foldable ones here....

die die wan altena jz bring back the whole box..

it is not big, check in as sports equipment,

these are altena boxes.. it measures 1220 x 195 x 810 mm only

prepare to kena tax 10%... ? gst soon... so.... biggrin.gif

agak agak u end up paying over 4k RM for this bike.... worth it??

This is very nice!  I brought back a full sized bike from Aus recently, AirAsia charged me A$45.  Worth it if it is a bike you can't get here.

No, just walked straight out. :-). Used a bike box but I modified to make it as small as possible by taken off both wheels.

Then again, mine wasn't a new bike, so not worried about Kastam.

full size bike?

where did u put the wheels?

Shipping by sea is cheap.

this is the rate from taobao agent

WM
SEA SHIPMENT (recommended for big/heavy items)
Normal Items:
0.1 m3 = RM70
0.2 m3 = RM85
0.3 m3 = RM125
0.4 m3 = RM165
0.5 m3 = RM205
0.6 m3 – 1 m3 = (RM390 per 1 m3)

Sea shipping cost calculations
1m3 = 100 cm x 100 cm x 100 cm
Minimum volume is 0.1m3 (if 0.05m3, will be charged as 0.1m3, and so on)
Example:
Item volume = 0.2 m3 = Sea shipping fees RM85
If there is total 4 items for that volume, parcel collection fees = RM3 x 4 = RM12
Total = RM85 + RM12 = 97

These differs from agent to agent.

for example dahon altena box size

1.22m x 0.195m x 0.81m = 0.192699

so at most oso cost rm125 for shipping by sea....

if you are involved in accident, they don't have your info.
if you dnf halfway, they can refuse to let u board the sweeping bus/truck.
refuse to let u start at the flag off point.

so u pandai pandai lor...
