Potrait and landscape, Nikon D750 with Sony Sensor have a major advantages over Canon Sensor. With 5 Stops under recovery/detail retain, it makes your workflow in term of editing faster and easier (unless you do not edit your photo) which makes Canon sensor at least 5 or so years behind Sony sensor development. Secondly, comparivetly, Nikon has the advatages of wider angle lense...The only advatages of Canon right now is handling and faster autofocus which cater for more towards sports photographry or press photographer as they do not edit or heavily edit their photo. I am a Canon user for many years with too many expensive lens on Canon which makes me kinda piss off...lolx

eh Canon lens cheap la. 17-40L and 70-200 F4L both can be acquired with RM 4k, used unit. Try that for Nikon.

Canon AF faster? c'mon la, cannot be. 5D Mark II focusing is slow, that's why people buy cameras like 50D / 60D / 70D to supplement it.

5D3 would have good AF but I don't see how much better can it be compared to D750.

There are so many variable of lenses, however the acquire lense f2.8 most people eventually buy, Canon or Nikon about the same price for new and under local warranty. Used market is open market, hard to compare. If you think it is value for money then ok.

Compare Canon 7D vs Nikon D3xx series, AF is not an issue. Furthermore, with 1D series camera previously is made for sports. Really depending on which category you want to compare but relatively Canon AF is faster with USM motor. Nikon is playing catching up, which is good.

Yes, 5D mark 1/2 is for Full Frame sensor purpose only not for speed. Mark 3 is getting better. D750 have all the new hardware as mark 3 should consider aging camera but still how it performance. Heck, i don;t care as the sensor is worst than Sony sensor in D750. But it is better than canon own crop sensor camera.

You can Google canon rumors and a few sites that have rumors will appear.  They not always accurate with their leaks, maybe because Canon is good at hiding its RnD.  But they do also report in new releases.  Rumors of a Canon lens EF 11-24mm f/2.8L for the full frame.  That's insane but too bad its going to costs USD3000.

I read like F4 only. But it is ok, as canon is playing catch up to nikon offering.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it............ unless you got cash and want to be broke for the month.

I bought the D750 not for the sensor, nor the dynamic range. biggrin.gif Those are just added advantage.

Dynamic range come from the Sensor....

talking about lenses in general, not f2.8 in specific.

Canon's lenses are still cheaper among the brands.
Canon AF has always been fast, question is fast does not mean accurate.

Nikon's AF has been the better one over the past few years.

Nikon also been busy releasing F4 lense. The most use lense 16-35 F2.8 and 70-200mm F2.8...Basically about same price depending on promotion.
Yup, nikon getting into Canon territory, remember the last olympic, Nikon release a lot of sports lense which in term focus on improving their autofocus. But basically, for me both same for amatuer level usage, just small nip picking. But the magic bullet for Nikon now is on Sony Sensor which perform a lot better than what Canon can offer.

i just discussed with my fren
he said Nikon D750 has better button control over Canon 5d mark , is it true ?
the only weakness for nikon is that there are only 2x custom dial preset in D750
*
Canon has always place button ergonomically compare with Nikon. The term one hand operation, you left hand always supporting on the lense (esp long and heavy lense). Try change ISO in Nikon, you need to use 2 hand, press ISO on the left and then use your right hand to change the ISO. The only problem with Canon compare with Nikon now is the sensor, Sony makes better sensor than Canon could.

D750 1/4000s shutter speed, but canon 5d 1/8000s

the rest nikon d750 is better

5D3 is waaaayyyyyyy more expensive that DF or D750. If you are thinking secondhand 5D2, 6D is a better option. However, you are forgoing a lot of features compare with DF and D750.

i am wondering how much better is the 5d3 in comparison to d750 to justify the much higher price?

the d750 is seriously a very interesting camera with tons of features.

About rm2K++ different.... if you don't have much canon lense and got the money to burn. Sony sensor on Nikon Body is the better option UNLESS there is something very specified that you are looking for like 1/8000 shutter.... Nikon overall value for money winner now...

I concur with the result....Canon doesn't have anything this year or last couple of year...I start with Canon becoz i prefer CMOS rather than CCD, in term of noise control and detail control. Now that crown been taken over by Sony Sensor.

But in Penang, overall NIKON service centre still suck and lansi unless you know the right person. Sony like not here at all. Canon is still the best in term of customer service.
