Buy the ap version first. Almost everyone here is using and it works great

Let me share my thoughts with u. I was hesitant about getting ap unit. All this while I bought original set, it feels safe to be covered by warranty. Thankfully out of the 3 android phones I own previously, all Samsung, I never had any hardware failure. I bought one ap Nexus 7 tablet. One of the first batch to get it unofficially in Malaysia. My tablet have speaker problem. I was devastated. Fortunately Asus accept international warranty and fixed mine foc within a week. Strange because Asus always has a bad rep for service center.

Anyways, I understand the importance of having original unit and warranty. But so why would I still buy ap one plus? First is for the price. Second, if u got folo one plus quite closely. U will notice there are 2 main groups. The majority are happy with it and are total fan boys, who can blame them? The phone itself is cheap and good, both hardware and software. But for the people who hate oneplus. Only got one thing in common. Warranty claim issue.

Every single complain about one plus is always about warranty claim. Any news about oneplus the comment section sure got people complain warranty claim. And their non existent customer service.

Which makes me think. They are new company. Lack of man power. Sell also sell near cost price. Barely making money. Every warranty claim for them is a lost. There are some successful warrant claims but that also took 2 months or longer.

Since rarely hear any hardware problem in this forum. Unlike Nexus 7 speaker problem which is very frequent. I feel it's quite safe to get the ap set. Besides getting official warranty might not mean much also judging by their horrendous warranty history.

If you're using something older than the galaxy s5. Just go ahead and buy. Definitely won't regret. If you using one of the flagship in 2014, don't waste money, hang on to it and wait for future phone. Oneplus is greaf value for money. But it really isn't a flagship killer. Put the pricing aside. It's really just almost as good as other 2014 flagship and you won't really gain much. In fact newer flagship like note 4 and xperia z3 have features that oneplus won't ever get

Update on the whole issue. Future seems bleak for oneplus in terms of future software updates.

hate to be the negative one, but let's see things in a realistic point of view.

during oneplus and cm partnership, cm announce will support global oneplus

now oneplus and cm are going to engage in legal battle. do you think cm will continue to update oneplus?
oneplus already have their own rom in development.

from my point of view, cm already plan to ditch oneplus. why would they waste time and effort of their small team on oneplus anymore. they are all in their office full time doing stuff for the yu phone now.

cyanogen disgust me. i'm waiting for slimroms to release stable KK next week.
i'm very satisfied with what 4.4 offers now. dont have such a strong urge to go lollipop.
will just wait for oneplus rom to release while using slimkat.

there should be a mass boycott of cm roms from the community. without the community they are nothing.

this phone, the hardware itself is impressive.
battery life is one of the best out there.

all the aosp roms available are more or less the same.
i have a test phone available, and i tried omni, cm, slim, PA.
there are many similarity among them, with only some slight differences.


i'll get oneplus for the nice price and hardware.
the other phone that interest me is z3, similar specs and awesome battery life. but the price....

Actually it's pretty much over between cm and oneplus.

U can see the email exchange.

The cm boss even threaten oneplus to drop the issue in India or face certain complications world wide.

I find it ridiculous as well.

I felt betrayed too. I like aosp roms. And love a phone that comes stock with it so I don't have to flash custom rom and face bugs. Nexus always have terrible battery life so they are not for me. This one plus is perfect for me although cm is not my favourite aosp based rom. My favourite is slim rom.

But I still stick with cm cos I wan Ota. Now that I feel Ota is pretty much no hope already. I flashed slimkat. It has more features than cm actually. Best of all don't have to see that despicable logo when I boot my phone. I'm also glad mine is China set don't have cm logo at the back.

1. Malaysia LTE works fine. Only doesn't work in the US

2. How u expect current users to know? We have the old batch. Mine have a bit yellow tint. But only noticeable on uniform white background and u spend effort comparing both ends only will realize. Doesn't affect day to day use.

3. Color OS have better camera. But everything else is inferior. It's still android 4.3.

4. Shop will do it for u. But when I got mine got some bloatwares Chinese apps inside and it feels abit laggy. I clean clash latest cm 11s factory image and it's great till now.

5. Same thing as u would as other phones.

6. No body knows for sure. But most likely they will breakup. Oneplus has lollipop rom in the works. Current 4.4 roms all of them are stable and great. Cm, PA, slim, Omni, or some all in one rom like mahdi and many more.

Actual image quality from stock camera is nowhere near that.

Those are raw images snapped using highly manual camera paid app with a tripod and edited by professionals.

Actually the clear image mode can produce very sharp picture. But it sucks to wait it process so long. The clear image should be optimized to be the default mode.

But too bad the stock cm camera app is useless. The view finder is cropped not only vertical but also horizontally.
