I subscribed 2Mbps from Maxis, however i found 10Mbps stated on my router GUI:
Attached Image

There was a period of time (few weeks) i can exceed 1.0Mbps / Sec , then changed become normal 200~250Kbps after that period of time.
Last few weeks it happens to become 1.0Mbps/ Sec again but after few days then disappeared and become 200~250Kbps back again.

Now i am still running at 200~250Kbps download speed (speed test also around 1.7Mbps) with the screen shot above stated 10000Kbps downstream.

Any of you experienced before and how can i do to make it back to 1.0Mbps ?

tq

If "I subscribed 2Mbps from Maxis, however i found 10Mbps stated on my router GUI"

Means you're getting more than you subscribed?
Why wanna downgrade it?

In that case, call and argue with CS?

you are subscribing 2mbps, not 10mbps, they limit your bandwidth via policing (isp end). Nothing can be done from your end to change the policing, except subscribe to faster package.

I am not degrading, i subscribed 2Mbps, but modem show 10Mbps. payment in 2Mbps fees only.

I used to exceed to 1.0Mbps downstream speed before for few weeks, and few weeks after. So the policy seems like not stable ?

And how to explain the 10000Kbps downstream showed in my modem ? <-- cannot trust 1 ? shocking.gif

Sometimes its the external server that throttle the speed, Speedtest by default will measure data speed to the nearest server.

*Edit: I see that you subscribed to 2mbps package. Why are you complaining when you get extra speed?

streamyx modem also got showing 1500kbps downstream, but actually 1000kbps (1mbps) in reality, don count on modem details, do speedtest or download real file.

as long as u subscribe to 2mbps plan now getting 2mbps is done.

Just because your tap can handle the pressure doesn't mean that the water supplier will increase the water pressure.

It's a good thing to get an extra speed while being capped by the account to be limited to 2mbps.

That means your line is in good perfect condition for future upgrades if the ISP is generous.

His line is a 10Mbps line la. The only restriction is his login account which caps him to 2Mbps.

They also got 6M package plan la but similar pricing to TM Streamyx 4M plan.

Maxis seems more generous.

Last time their 1M ADSL plan users were upgraded to 2M without needing to re-register.

Then they started a new plan to challenge TM's 8M Streamyx.

Maxis 6M ADSL plan.
