QUOTE(seale_navy @ Oct 30 2008, 09:52 PM) just received my surefire elb backup.. its not as bright as i expected.. what a dissappointment though..but the brightness seem to conform with the 80 lumes of the emitter reading... its significantly brighter than my Pelican M6 LED.. you can get the new KX2 head either in black or in desert sand brown and get a whopping 120lumens - http://www.surefire.com/maxexp/main/co_dis...1/KX2C-LED-HEADas to built wise.... its like fenix... nothing special about it.. u can see silver colour base coating at the edges of the flashlight at certain areas.. just like maybe overall like 5mm silver base coating for the entire flashlight... and sell off your E1B head |

sori - i'm not selling it because this L-mini is the best 1x18650 cell light for the price.
the L-mini brass heatsink is better than the Fenix P1 CE brass heatsink. It is not so thick but so solid - it will not go out of shape if you hit it with a hammer |

QUOTE(tong1774 @ Nov 17 2008, 02:28 PM) I actually looking for a pocket size 18650 light, since AA is not bright enough, and CR123's runtime is too short. But do you think i should grad it now, or wait for the "don't know when" new version? The only version left is the Ver1 silver, may be i should grab that one and get rid of the HA coating. mine is version 1 black becoz i like single cell set up.Yours is Ver1 or3? why don't you send a special request PM. asking like this - "can you swap the light engine from the silver host version 1 to the black host of the Version 2 due to i like to have a black host single cell set up" just an idea |

Solarforce L2 looks kinda similar to Sure Fire 6P which is selling at RM400+ It has the following specifications. 1. Utilizes a Cree R2 7090 XR-E LED with a life of 50,000 hours 2. Provide 300 Lumens Output 3. Digitally Regulated for Constant Brightness 4. Uses 2 x CR123A 3.7 Battery (NOT included) 13cm (L) x 3.2cm (D) 5. Made of aircraft grade aluminum 6. Durable is ensured which is made by aluminum 7. 98-gram weight (excluding batteries) 8. Toughened ultra clear glass lens with AR coating 9. Press the end switch to on/off the flashlight (Reverse clicky) 10. The Non_tatical Head & Switch is compatible to Surefire 6P 9P G2 Flashlight My opinion, if you are looking for a Sure Fire 6P compatible flashlight, solarforce L2 is a good choice, I ordered from Ebay.com for USD$29.90 (included shipping and it reached me after 1 month of delivery from Hong Kong). Construction is good very detailed, it doesn't look like those cheaply made in China flashlights. Not type III Hard Anodized, but overall quality is very good for the price you paid for. It is bright, tested on Tesco CR123 3.0v x 2, it throws 200 meters (rough figure as I dont have any equipment (GPS) to test with). With CR123 3.7v x 2, it sure throws further as it is powered by CREE R2 up to 18V. LED is center aligned, I dont see any off centered alignment. Attached Solarforce L2 photos. review http://www.light-reviews.com/solarforce_l2gs-r2/ i disagree on point no.2 refer here - base on "Actual Lumens readings in 6" dia. Lab Sphere IS with SC 5500 control " http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=pIh...ezKYVu9XmK3dpYg |

QUOTE(Philightsophy @ Jan 13 2009, 12:01 PM) yes,it's never ending story as it is addictive.Added on January 13, 2009, 11:44 pm QUOTE(justin78 @ Jan 13 2009, 01:38 PM) How is the temperature of the flashlight after the R2 mod? no heat issue here despite them running with rcr123.Does it feel a little hotter than the normal Q5 LED? Can you ON it continuously for a long period of time without worrying the temperature? but the hotspot is much2 more intense compare to the Q5 despite the R2 equipped with the WG tint. I have tested the P2d R2 running it until the AW 123 shut down and i got 45 minutes,of course i wrapped the P2D with wet towel. as for normal use running it continuously is fine as long as you hold it so that your palm will take the heat away. no colour shift with my R2's This post has been edited by surefire v LED: Jan 13 2009, 11:44 PM |

Finally managed to put the SSC P4 emitter on this HS - http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=216656
Pictures Terralux Cree P4 drop in ( UCL + Fraen + Kroll tailcap +2AA alkalines ) vs SSC P4 (Novatac poly lens green coating + Terralux tailcap + Terralux reflector + 1 AW14500 & AA dummy ) ![]() normal shot ![]() EV -2.0 ![]() in real life the SSC P4 is brighter. And now it's time to put some reliable driver in my direct drive Mag 2D Cree MCE Thanks for lookin'. This post has been edited by surefire v LED: Jan 21 2009, 03:33 PM |
