Just to inform everyone on this thread, just in case you didn't know, there are a couple of fakes in the Audio Techinca line, just watch out for it.

One confirmed fake I spotted a few days ago was the PRO700, supposedly to retail for RM700+-, however, seller tried to sell it to me at RM350, later reduced it to RM150 when I seem disinterested due to the fact that I later learnt it's fake. The price itself is a dead giveaway, however, there are several other features which makes the fake distinguishable.

Just to drop a notice here just in case anyone falls for it. smile.gif
Now you know why you should be buying from Akabane and Sony. laugh.gif Trustable seller. smile.gif

If you're seriously into orchestral music, I highly suggest you to go for those open back AD series, such as the AD700/500/300.

M30 isn't exactly overwhelming in its bass, depending on your taste, I just find it abit forward/prominent in its range. More suitable for trance and electronic or those harder type of songs. Which isn't exactly what I listen to. smile.gif

Hurm.. Come to think of it, I might be avoiding closed back cans for some time.

Burning em in, hopefully I can come out with a user reference review in a couple of days.

how much u bought,bro??
eyeing to one of this also...

I got it direct from Amazon. biggrin.gif Abit below RM480.
Slightly cheaper than what you would get from the forums, but if possible, I'd suggest you to get it from the forums as warranty claiming would be easier. smile.gif

I wonder if Walabies restocked dy. Hurm...

Maybe it's wrong to say 'directly' lah.

Hurm.. But hey, not bad rates man. RM65 for tax and shipping, not too shabby at all. smile.gif

Or you can just let it burn in as you listen to it. smile.gif

Just leave it at normal listening volume ba. smile.gif

I doubt the ON3 needs much burning in, so just enjoy yourself as you go on. wink.gif

Where can i get the ATH-AD700 here in malaysia? Amazon is selling it for around 90 USD so its like RM 300+ here.

I'm expecting prices to be around RM 380+ here though but not more than 500. Else im gonna have to buy it through Amazon.

Thanks.

You can already go ahead and buy it from Amazon then.

No retail price in Malaysia for the AD700 is below RM500. Cheapest is probably from Walabies, but that's above RM500 as well.

Please beware, alot of people selling fake AT products online

As far as I know, there are no fakes specifically for AD700 which is widely marketed.. smile.gif It's the retail price for the AD700 here which is high. smile.gif

Nah I can testify that they're not fakes. wink.gif
Gotten a pair of them from amazon once, and they're as real as any AD700 you can ever get.

Also, amazon Japan list it for around 10800 yen. laugh.gif Just around RM400.

u think so? i open the bulk coz i thing there are people got interested to tumpang me.. but it seems not really got feedback.. haha.. nvmind.. maybe later..

eh.. what is different between open air and closed of same model? open air mean people around can hear what we're listening rite?
*
Like usual lah. laugh.gif

Open air (open back) just means the enclosure of the headphone is opened, allowing air and sound to leak out from it. Like the AD700. A700 would be an example of a closed back headphone.

yeah i know.. about the sound produced by open air should be not same like closed rite? hows open shound compare to closed?
*
It's a gross generalisation, but open back cans tend to be airier and feels more spacious than closed back ones. Bass impact and resonance will be affected as well. smile.gif

Btw, nice price for the AD700 you're offering there now. Hurm... If not for the fact I am funding for speakers, I might have bought another pair from you. tongue.gif

hmm.. i see.. and which sounds better? closed or open?

Again, gross generalisation, people tend to prefer open back cans. Though sincerely, to me, both have their own merits la. biggrin.gif

Perhaps you can get some LYN members to give opinions on how to set up those samples. smile.gif
