sometimes nightfalls mission is from dark below exp. iinm non expansion players can't do nightfall that particular week.

so yeah it does increase your chance to get exotics from dark below nightfalls & raid.

No, it doesn't increase chance to get Exotic weapons.
It's the same old RNG you have to go through to get them(lol Xur today)

You'll only be missing out in Crota's End(Expansion 1 Raid) along with the strikes and some story missions(which gives a lot of extra exp)
So it depends if you want to do the extra raid and those stuffs or not
