Yups, from 2nd-year onwards, the value of your notebook will depreciate... Thats y its best to insure your notebook in a similar manner with your car, which is to follow the market value... That way, you know you'll not be over- or under-paying the insurance premium...

Global Theft insurance larr..accident damage coverage is available from the manufacturer or get a home content insurance which covers flooding, repair cost, etc.

You can get it from our retailer, Alamtronica and they just opened in SS15 Subang Jaya.

Mention headache  rclxub.gif and they will sell you the insurance without buying the laptop from them.

Hi,

Want to check whether can I find insurance company in Malaysia that will insure laptop for theft, fire, loss, damage etc?

Thanks.

Yah, my notebook and even my Dopod 818 Pro have insurance converage for theft and accidental damage.

Both are insured by Mitsui Sumitomo (last time called Aviva/CGU).

Once my laptop was damaged due to burst pipe on the upper floor of my office. Sent to compaq and it cost more to repair then it was insured for. Aviva paid me in full and got myself a new notebook rclxm9.gif

I have not claimed before, and hope I never need to smile.gif

They insure all brands, but need to be within 6mths of purchase.

Strangely, they don't even need to see the actual appliance when I applied, so maybe it's possible to claim thru this AFTER you have lost it......

sell insurance is one thing.. being able to claim is another... do read the fine prints exclusion clause...

Added on June 19, 2008, 11:46 pmyou should first insure the contents of your house for fire theft.. anything above 2k..
