QUOTE(carnby77 @ Apr 17 2020, 12:24 PM) This is why a lot malaysians dislike ah beng workshops... They think customers dont know.. Changed spark plug and they charge rm150 for it... Justification: need to tune after change plug. I think this is bullshit. I saw the whole process from the back.. Bugger just put the diagnostic tool and just check all the sensors only.. Never did any tuning!! Bloody ah beng shop!! Please viral this info.. To be fair, it is not particularly easy to replace the Nissan Almera's spark plugs. The whole intake manifold needs to be removed before you can access the plugs. If the price of RM150 which includes the plugs, I would say it is decent. Not a rip off but decently priced. Probably the mechanic should be honest and inform you the procedures required to replace the plugs. Engines like those from Honda and Toyota, workshops normally charges RM20 labour to replace spark plugs. These are very easy to work on engines which do not need to remove intake manifold. QUOTE(Jessieccy @ Apr 20 2020, 11:35 AM) True it would be decent if it included the spark plugs. According his complaint is... He brought his own spark plugs. Rm150 if you don't buy parts from me (labor+tune computer) RM80 for the same thing if you bought parts from the shop. Which is a rip off... If he had plenty of time, I guess you could go for consumer Tribunal court? I bet the mechanic must be cursing and swearing when he is replacing those plugs. It is really a nightmare to work the N17 engine. Any idea how much an alternator cost for the N17? Just had it failed at around 90,000km. This car loves to merajuk here and there. Really a bugger.

QUOTE(Jessieccy @ May 9 2020, 11:36 PM) Things go wrong when you need it... Finally managed to change my fan motor right after the MCO loosen up... Also tightened my brake caliper as well. It was clunking on uneven roads. Now only left my mystery suspension sound... Next round... Save some money first. 😫 [attachmentid=10487105] What is the mileage when it goes kaput? My father's Almera already replaced that last year @ 83,000km. MCO the car keluar pattern again and the alternator went KO @ 87,000km. This post has been edited by Thrust: May 10 2020, 07:44 AM

1 litre pack of Matic S normally cost around RM30. You'll need only 3 bottles.
Labour to change ATF usually cost an average of RM30. So total is around Rm120.

QUOTE(xiaobaiwm @ May 28 2020, 02:01 PM) Wah labour cheap. Where can find such workshop on pj area boss? I think pj area mostly rm60 for labour. But one think I am afraid is that outside workshop dont know how to reprograme the gear after changing. Like some cars need to move the gear back and forth after change oil Change gear oil no need to reprogramme the ECU. As for workshop, you need to ask around. Some do offer affordable labour charges.

QUOTE(naveenkalai7 @ Jun 9 2020, 10:03 AM) Hi all, im planning to get almera black series.. Is there any common issues for almera? Reason for taking black series cuz its looks nice and sporty.. and also within the budget for its features except for airbags which only have 2.. pls advise My personal advice, avoid Almera like a plague. You will regret it. My house has one and it have the most problems as compared to other cars in the house which are Perodua and Honda. Nissan Malaysia cars uses many locally made Tan Chong parts. Their parts are not as reliable and long lasting as Nissan Japan parts. In fact, their quality seems to be weaker than even our local parts manufacturer APM.

QUOTE(naveenkalai7 @ Jun 9 2020, 12:57 PM) yes ah, thought its reliable as honda and toyotas.. then need to check other models too.. btw nay i know what kind of problems you have with almera? was it happen during the warranty period? Problems encountered: Wheel bearing; Cooling coil leaking gas; Coil plugs; Alternator; Tensioner pulley; Radiator fan motor. Engine mounting. Only the wheel bearing was claimed during warranty. The rest was replaced after warranty expired. This post has been edited by Thrust: Jun 9 2020, 01:02 PM

QUOTE(carnby77 @ Aug 8 2020, 12:03 AM) I would say the softest Suspension is more stable when you are on the highway. My monroe is very soft and at highway, around 140km/h and above, no wobbling and nice to drive...Monroe, try it! Not easy to find Monroe as most parts dealer carries KYB only.

QUOTE(Jessieccy @ Aug 8 2020, 10:34 AM) Unfortunately yeah KYB everywhere. It's not comfortable. A bit painful in my opinion Perhaps you can source for SACHS absorber. It's a German brand shocks and many said it offers better ride comfort than KYB.

Initially SC suspect steering rack, but after few days of checking, the found the problem..🙄 How much the damage?

QUOTE(Jessieccy @ Oct 17 2020, 04:33 PM) [attachmentid=10637546] Looks like OEM rubber stuff... Really cannot use. Ashimori 1 yr also not yet, crack on the right side mount, but the passanger side one was the suspected problem. Got a weird compressed ring mark on the top. Either way both also squished already. Looks like need to get back ori again. Guys, anyone got feed back on KYB mounts? [attachmentid=10637550][attachmentid=10637551] Eh, you're a girl ar from the look of your finger?
