hi everyone, first time posting here after going through all the tips discussed prior to this.
i bought a couple of hatchling star tortoises a few months back, and i must admit i'm pretty new in this. i know you guys are saying that hatchings are more prone to sickness and die easily, which is why i'm being extra careful here.
i'm feeding my tortoises mustard greens and cabbages (is this ok?) because other than that they won't eat anything else, even pellets. i'm wondering is it because that they're still young they don't really like those? occasionally i'll put them out in the garden for sunbathing and they'll chomp away some of the lawn grasses.
also, i noticed that one of my tortoises have RNS this week, is there any extra steps i need to take to make sure it heals? because i read somewhere RNS is quite serious and can cause death if untreated over a certain period of time. right now i'm putting them under some lamp (dunno what you call these, the yellow light bulb thing) which i hope will keep them in a temperature which is more suitable. previously i keep them indoors without these lights, perhaps that's why it got sick.
another thing i hope you guys can help me out here, since i occasionally let them stray around in the garden, do i need to get them those anti-parasite stuff they sell in pet shops?
hope to keep them for a long time to come, don't want anything bad happening to them.
thanks in advance people...
