hi guys.. help me identify what species is this tortoise? it belongs to my neighbor next door. They juz moved in few months ago.. she kept it ever since she was 10 years old n now she is 65years old.. so i presume the turtle is like 70 plus eh? the reason why i fell in love with turtles cos i used to look at the huge turtle frm my windows every morning. it's huge. good morning thanks for the info camillenoir..i did exactly what u told me yesterday..i've done some research too over the net on stuff like food and lighting setup. and the importance of it. my aquarium is at the sitting area under the porch..and it is very cosy and shaddy. i still need to get the proper lighting as suggested. However, juz to let u know, i do have plans to let the turtles be outdoor ..i mean my house do have a small pond at the garden, but currently it is juz filled with teratais and some other plants. we left it vacant after our koi fish died several months ago. at what age should i let go the little heosemys grandis off to the pond? oh yeah by the way..gotta mention here too..we do have a regular visitor from this guy who will come to our pond quite regularly perhaps for a bask at 10.30 am. he will be at his favourite spot. my question now is, is it safe to let this "guy" be friends with my turtles one day? i know u must be wondering where i am staying to have this guy coming to visit us twice a week..i am staying in petaling jaya..no hutan whatsoever nearby..or any unattended house around. it really amazed me tho' .. but civets are quite popular around here.
