I like to know is it that bad to use smart 6 or the available overclock system that come together with the PC, when you bought it.

Forgot where I saw it, but saw people mention there is a big waste using the default from available system.

So it is not safe? is better to learn more deeper and clock it yourself?

because wondering if thats the case, why would Gigabytes come out this smart 6 which include overclock, or all were just personal opinions?

And once you overclocked, your pc hardware will sure have shorter life span?

Thanks in advance for anyone who share.

You mean the system predefined overclock?

Normally that is just a very small overclocking with potential that the overclocking margin is far more than that.

If you done it manually, you can get closer to the OC limit of your hardware.

Theoretically yes, overclocking can shorten the life span of the hardware. But most of the parts being overclocked are simply far too durable that even under overclocking (provided you have a proper cooling on them), they can still last pretty much forever.

oh I see, does anyone use Gigabytes gamer hud lite here? I wonder about the what does the GPU, shader, memory mean,

Do you guys test it by increasing bit by bit to see how much your PC can OC? XD

Default OCing profiles are helpful when you don't know how to go about.

Not necessarily the most efficient, for example an overclocker will fine tune to get the best out of the voltage vs speed to maximize efficiency.

Some profiles would push the processor beyond limit too, so in the end what's seen there may not work.

Thanks for telling ^^

I bought my customize pc from Viewnet lowyat, but it give a lot of problem just after I start using it, blue screen of death, electric shock just touching the casing, somethow I think the person who OC my pc,(didnt install my pc properly), didnt sth wrong with it already, and since they cant solve the problems, I just make everything default, and nothing wrong anymore. (years ago anyway, that time I am still newbie on pc)

But I bought this customise pc knowing it is already OC, kinda feel I am under-performing it since read a lot comment mentioning the graphic card can go beyond XXX amount.

Guess I have to dig more & learn "safe OC", haha

BSOD - hard to comment, usually settings incorrect.
Electrick shock - check your home wiring, especially how the electricity is grounded. use good quality socket / plugs.

If you "Restore to default" and it's settled then yes, settings problem.

Those predefine overclock profile is safe unless your dont have suitable accessories such RAM, 3rd party cooling or PSU

If all these part certified for Overclock, it wouldnt harm ur machine~
