Recently, a high graphic demanding game was released. A game that many First Person Shooter (FRP) gamers have been longed for.
The name of the said game is Call of Duty: Advance Warfare. Lucky for me, the graphic optimisation of the game is great. I could run it on my outdated lenovo y400 laptop(Well, the Nvidia 900m series are out and they are out of my price range
The minimum requirements for COD: Advance Warfare:
INTEL CPU: Core i3-530 2.9GHz
AMD CPU: Phenom II X4 810
Nvidia GPU: GeForce GTS 450
AMD GPU: Radeon HD 5870 1024MB
RAM: 6 GB
OS: Win 7 64 bits
Directx: DX11
HDD Space: 55 GB
My Lenovo y400 specs:
INTEL CPU: i7 (3rd Gen) 3630QM / 2.4 GHz
Nvidia GPU: GeForce GT750m 2G DDR5
RAM: 8 GB
OS: Win 8.1 64 bits
Directx: DX11
HDD: SSD(KINGSTON SV300S37A120G)
However, the temperature were rather extreme. As high as 104'C(well, one of it's core) CPU & 98'C GPU without cooling pad and A.C room. Certainly, not enough to cause a sudden blue screen of death(BSOD) or sudden death of GPU nor CPU but high enough to reduce the computer lifespan. At first, I tried to reduce the temperature by using a simple modded cooling pad.
Still, it was not effective. So, I began to mod the cooling system of the Notebook.
