It's a bit risky for those who work in OnG AND invest in OnG.. if got any 'winter melon tofu'.. you lose on both ends..  sweat.gif

for O&G, there is a big room for cost cutting.. as long as ppl still burning fossil fuel, O&G will still alright.. who want to use renewable fuel when fossil fuel is so cheap, especially asia biggrin.gif

You office based technical or site based technical..?

You wanna earn big bucks have to go to site based one ... preferably offshore or some remote country tongue.gif

I have friend working at OnG .. office based technical doing risk assessment job, pay is RM 30k per month.
*
office based. that's why. really have to go offshore or middle east to earn big bucks.

So confident with OnG ah?

I though you say many contracts not renewed?  laugh.gif

Your boss got go haywire or not with the low oil price?  tongue.gif
*
erm.. our OnG business is to build new platform, so only award, no renewal. blush.gif

with current > USD 60. it is not so bad yet. even 2009 dropped to USD 40.

i believe this is short term hiccup, i predict oil price will stabilize at 80USD in 1-2 years. we will still see big OnG companies in coming 20-30 years. The energy consumption will move like this:
Oil -> Gas (gas is also dirt cheap) -> Renewable

Magasale ... where are you?  rclxms.gif

OnG is more resilient than i thought... even though oil drop all the way to $60, all the weak sellers bailed out already?  hmm.gif
*
i was expecting another megasale.. seems like oil price need to break USD60 before another panic sell coming in brows.gif

oil price do not only affect OnG counters tongue.gif

REAl panic will come when oil reach the $40's range.  laugh.gif  laugh.gif

Many oil companies will close shop, the survivors will win it all..  wink.gif

capex ady spent. the oil production must go on to recover their investment. i think those O&G new comers will suffer the most when it reach $40

Still cannot understand why EPF is so eager to have a vote in the CIMB-MSBS-RHB merger, facing some resistance from KLSE.

Is EPF against the merger or is this one smart way of getting the rule in their favour for future use?

CIMB is under Ah Jib's brother and I assume what the 2 brothers do will be in mutual agreement. Why then is EPF so eager to have a say in this merger, as if it is going to oppose it?

Or is EPF having a different vision than Ah Jib and brother?

Maybe I am seeing this from the wrong peek hole?

Thanks.

imo, they afraid Aabar vote no as now they are the major voice now. Aabar is looking for higher value

Less and less actually.. renewable energy are slowly taking over our carbon addiction, but currently not too widespread as the cost per unit energy is not competitive yet.

But in 20 years or so, I expect them to supply >50% of energy consumed vs <10% now.  wink.gif
*
we need to have a leap in renewable technology. many of them having cost issues. actually it is better for the world to focus on energy efficiency first. current efficiency is still average..

pchem also started to looks nice.. downstream process, the main thing to consider is demand, not affected so much by crude oil price.

Today I monitor skpet... there are hella lot more buyers queuing than sellers queing.. no so good for pancing activities.

Maybe its mostly institution that buy/sell, who dont bother to queue one, straight whack from market.

Seems like all the ikan bilis became ikan kering/salted already.  laugh.gif
