I love decaffeinated coffee from Nescafe. But I still prefer the black coffee from Starbucks.

UCC actually carries a lot of good instant coffee such as the blue mountain blend and charcoal roasted blend. But here's a japanese brand ground coffee that i particularly like, it's the Key Coffee special blend. To me it has the perfect balance of sourness, body and aroma.

Its color is black but not dark roasted, it tastes somewhere between light and medium roasted but has a full body, not too overly oily even brewed using a french press or just ordinary tea strainer.

No wonder it is priced at around rm35 for 200g ground coffee sold at village grocer. Quite pricey for regular coffee drinker but i think it's fine to indulge yourself once in a while.

for black coffee, the regular freeze dried nescafe coffee was my go-to and i moved on the nescafe gold blend, slightly pricier but it doesn't have the sour after taste that the regular leaves behind.

on days i feel i want something creamier, i go for either Ah Huat's or Chek Hup's, the ones WITHOUT sugar because the ones with are basically inviting diabetes with open arms.

as of now, i've ditched all instant coffees and moved on to good old freshly brewed espressos.

Sitting at home during lockdown period, have u guys tried out the tiktok viral whipped coffee aka beaten coffee (existed long time ago)? U whip instant coffee and water with an electric handmixer until fluffy then pour on top your favorite milk.

Vs the beaten coffee which is done manually by hand. Couldn't have thought such thing also can go viral. I bet whipped coffee must taste like foamy cappuccino.
