I'm thinking of getting a Yamaha YSP 2500 sound bar because of the great reviews. Anybody know any places displaying & selling this item and the price range?

I bought my Maranzt 5007 for rm2300 begining of the year from them. Other places was much higher than this price.

Harvey norman is RM2999 now, i waiting Yamaha Sales in Kelana Jaya.

Bought my YSP-2500 2 weeks ago from HN.
At that moment, they gave 2 options;
1. RM2950 - I year warranty
2. RM3030 - 3 years warranty.

I took the 3 years warranty option.

I would say exactly the same as the 'What Hifi' review.

The good side;
- Exciting, expansive sound
- Plenty of punch
- Beautiful design
- Greatly built (with quality materials)

The not very good side.
-It needs a suitable placement and space.
Because it reflects sound off the wall in order to deliver the sound effects. Furnitures can become obstructions.

Yamaha sales in Kelana Jaya selling display sets of the YSP-2500 for RM 2394.

There was one unit left when I was there at 2 pm.

Not so cheap seeing that the display sets get only 3 months warranty.

frankly speaking this ysp 2500 is a sound is really great which event my wife who is not electronic savvy told me if need a sound bar this is the one, but was draw back with the retail price. I did went to yamaha today but agree with jchue73 with only three months warranty & price really a set back for display units.

any user here has experience with yht-s401 or yas-203?

I miss the yamaha sales cause I was outstation to China. But after being go through for so many things, i actually prefer YSP-3300 more than YSP-2500. Any YSP-3300 user?

I found that YSP 2500 is good for movie for it seen not powerful enough when turn into stereo for song, what is the suitable setting for song listening?

the wireless sub is quite handy..

i have ysp 3000 .. since 2009..
no problem until now..

Upgrading it to get the dts-hd sound, aptx streaming and 4k in the near future

Basically any sound bar will need a square and enclosed room to get the proper surround reflection.

Soundbar is still too expensive for what it is. Half the price then only i consider. They are no better than proper 5.1/7.1 entry level amp with proper speaker placement.

However, some people favour sound bar than the 5.1/7.1 speaker system because of space constraint.

Yep...i am also tempted...coz small apartment...but already spoiled by a dedicated amp with discrete speakers....unless the price of soundbar is like entry level amp, i can't bring myself to buy it.

As far as my visit to HN yesterday...yes you can bargain with the sales person...better if you could snap a pic of the same product selling cheaper at other place..but it up to them to match or not..

I personally think that they have their target sales..if they are desperate..they will match

Not necessary to have a square room.
In order to get the soundbeams' reflected, you can place any flat surface materials such as photo frames, cardboard,...
to reflect the sound to your sitting position.

I bought YSP 2500 last week at setia city mall HN. They give 2 option Rm2950 for 1 year warranty . RM3395 for 5 years warranty

manufacturer or extended shop warranty? Sounds to me like Extended shop warranty. Read through what it covers first.

Quality of the sound projection is good for the size and price.

Pricewise, it's still very stable.

HN's extended warranty is quite ok. A few years back on my Sony LCD TV, they sent Sony's technicians to my house to replace the HDMI port that fried. All paid and covered under HN.

i understanding having extended warranty of LCD tv .. but for soundbar? For me maybe no need ??

anyone here can advise where can find good bargain for YSP-2500? HN is selling >RM3400, appears to be expensive.

Can anyone advise if the ir repeater will still work if I off the ysp2500? Or it must be power on in order for it to work?

After reading the review of YSP2500 so tempting to buy one but i need YSP2500 owner to advice me whether this unit suitable for my usage as below:

1) using samsung note 2 to play youtube song via Bluetooth
2) using laptop to streaming HD movie by using VGA cable connect to my LCD TV and play audio to my mini hifi via stereo jack cable

Planning to buy a good audio system because my current JVC NX-D5 is rubbish very regretted that i brought it many years ago with price tag RM1299

I have ysp2500 with my sony w700c.better connect the audio with optical audio o hdmi to hv a better quality(hd) of output .if i m not mistaken , cable frm laptop to tv won't get hd video.

When to HN and check the price. RM3390. Can get any cheaper or not?

Yesterday bought my Yamaha YAS-203 with RM1690 but they say new price is RM2100+
Bcoz they dint change the tag so offer me old price.

They say Yamaha increase price for each product stage by stage.
