The major difference is Rafa had no 100 mil to spend upon, always need to work under tight budget.
Also under Rafa, if he get the tactic right and players right, Liv can beat any team, and never seems like a "minnow" in CL stage. (while Liv under BR in CL level is like minnow team, no offence)
Also Rafa "unearthed" some real good players in his early stage of career in transfer market for the like, Luis Garcia, Alonso, Torres, despite working on lesser budget,
For BR, so far Sturridge may be in the list only after spending more than 100mil.Â
I first taught when BR success to prove many his doubter wrong by finishing strongly at 2nd place, and with plenty of transfer money support from owner, then it may be a game changer for Liv that finally can break the infinite loop of rebuilding like previous 2 decades plus, but seems the flop in transfer market may just send back Liv into the infinite loop again.Â

no doubt Rafa far more experience and tactically most of the time made the right decision. Previous owners shorten his spell in liverpool but there is nothing to regret about honestly manager come and go. If now i wouldnt want him, i would prefer someone new like Klopp diff style and see where it take us.
Liverpool never had big transfer fund in the history, this is totally new for spending over 100mil a season. Its like scouts also sien, scout and scout but no action. All the good players taken, think this season's transfer cant just blame BR alone. Perhaps the whole transfer commitee + owners, they offered more money for Sanchez, Shaqiri, Kono, Willian (if rumours are true), Mkirtaryan, Sigursson, Salah, Costa etc etc
They need a little push in the transfer.
