Ya, the whole midnight delivery thing is massive PR nightmare. Make 200 customers happy, and get thousands more screaming at you. If I were the CEO, I would get a few heads in marketing rolling for that idea. No doubt maxis handled the whole thing badly. Here's the thing though, it's very obvious that either DiGi and Celcom handled the launches better or they seemingly have more units available, which I doubt it. The other possibilities are they either have less subscribers, or their subscribers are mostly in the Android camp. But maxis subscribers are still unwilling to port over to take their business elsewhere to teach maxis a lesson, but seem content to fire profanities at maxis for handling the whole thing badly, so it's entertaining to read, hehe. I think some already had a feeling maxis will screw up (but maybe not to that degree of epic-ness), but they placed their pre-orders anyway.
Well, maybe they didn't have a choice like myself. I previously registered with maxis for iPhone 4 but during the launch at the Gardens, I had a big argument with one of their staff over queue management and so I left the event hall, walked into a DiGi outlet and registered to port in. A day later they called me and I got my phone. This was after being a maxis customer for 10 years. Then I learnt the hard way about DiGi's "awesome" network, suffered 2 years, ported out and got into Celcom for iPhone 5. Celcom was better but in terms of coverage at my house area, they were not up to mark. So after my contract I ported out and back to maxis. So I already know I have to go with maxis this round (don't wanna buy the phone outright coz in my opinion it's too expensive without subsidies), so I don't see any point of cursing maxis unless I'm prepared to take my business elsewhere which I am not. I just have to suck it up. And wait.
And wait.
And wait.
And.. oh well, you get the picture

But I feel for those guys who paid and are still waiting for their phones. All the best to them in getting their pre-ordered units this week or so.
I would say the CEO himself would have his head rolling if their Group CEO isn't so busy getting his hands tied fighting off prosecution from the Indian Government.
