highly recommended...way better than special ID
the movie reminds me of bruce lee's game of death where he fight level by level thn finally fight the most powerful BOSS...
i rate 4.5/5

the only thing i dn't understand in this movie is what is the role of the kung fu's addict's wife in this movie...everything is unclear
his motive is to be no.1 but his wife role is like just extra...it doesn't explain anything at all

Oooh really? Really sad to hear you been bully by your roommates.. guess you're just another loser in real life.

BTW, I have some prop in KL area, just in case your can't take it anymore from your roommates, you can always consider my condos, only if you can afford the rent of course wink.gif

not bad, im not expecting it at all from the beginning and seriously quite intense.

however i dont really like the ending with the way how the killer dies.

Nothing can beat SPL. One of the best Asian films of all time in my opinion.

Her role is to show that the villian has nothing else to loose after her death except to be the number 1. That's why the villian has no regrets about killing all the people and was not afraid of death.

his wife is the reason he can be so good because he no longer has anybody he love living in this world hence he can fight freely
aside, he killing his own wife because he cannot stand her suffering made him strong and fearless in killing

Since Tony Jaa is acting in SPL 2
I think hopefully in the future, they would meet each other in a standoff smile.gif

Kung Fu Jungle 一個人的武林 (2014)

Okay, Donnie Yen made a name for himself in the Ip Man 1 & 2.

Bodyguards and Assassins (2009) was okay, but every other stuff he had done so far...

This is supposed to be his "comeback" movie and it is only decent...

The Good

1) The Fighting scenes are very well done
2) Bring fist fights into modern era again is handled well
3) Paying homage to as many past and present actors/action coordinator/directors/stunt persons is greatly appreciated
4) Slick production

The Bad

1) Donnie "need" to be seen as the peoples' person comes across as forced (especially after all the "rumors about him being a prima donna, in real person)
2) The villain motive is so flimsy that you cannot even break tofu with it!!!

The Ugly

1) The minute Donnie leaves prison to help the police, I could already see the "twist" for the movie, and that is only 15 minutes into the movie, talk about anti climatic....

I can only chalk this up as nice try.

Just watched the movie via DVD of course

Overall, SPL is still the best MMA moves that Donnie Yen displayed, how to take down someone who is at least > 50 pounds heavier

But don't understand why not much was talked about why Donnie Yen killed the character in the beginning of the show that got him in Jail

Perhaps for a sequel
