Does anyone face before a situation that bride-to-be is different daerah/state with bridegroom-to-be?
Do we need to submit the form at JPN by ourselves?
And do we need to go JPN together with our fiance/fiancee?(which means twice due to different daerah/state) rclxub.gif

Please help sad.gif

fill in every thing at TianHou, pick a date, wait for any objection ... you get posted for 1 week for any objection. Then come back on the date, a registrar will do the ceremony, bring the form to commissioner of oath, at tianhou ... they will try to con you into the international version ... wolla you are done. No JPN visit at all...

Can someone list down what are the steps/procedure for ROM?

Coz i heard ppl says you need to "apply" and submit form, then wait for atleast 30 days whether got objections from any parties or not?
If no objection then only can proceed... is that true?

No lah ... why need to change address ? only thing is they need to post your registration at the state board to see if your wife at the original state is going to protest or not only.

do not get conned into the international version, its RM300 just to change the malay into english ... totally worthless. lolz

I find the below site quite useful *just 1 part, don't think you can download the form from the website, they would not accept it...

From my research, it does mention need to change address if not from that state, example, if I go to Putrajaya for registration, I need to change my hometown address on my IC to Selangor / KL address. Not sure this is still applicable or not. That's why I went to temple to do it. hmm.gif then in the temple, then only I realized that the "banana" part of me have to listen and speak some mandarin... doh.gif

Hi Guys,

I have went to JPN and this is the actual flow that I was facing:
My bf and I am same state but different district, and we planned to register at my district JPN. therefore we need to do the following:
- Bring along both of you IC copy, front and back.
- 2 sets copy of passport photos.
1. Submit 1 copy of form at my district, go to the JPN and the pegawai will guide you how to fill in(for my case, there's an example stick on the wall). Sign the form in front of the pegawai. Our 1 set of passport will be pasted at the form.
For my case, no IC copy is needed, only need to show our original IC to prove that we are Malaysian non-muslim.

2. If you want to having ROM at the JPN, you may book the date and time right after 21 days of BOTH of you submit the form. Eg: I submit by today, but my bf submit the form 1 week later, the 21 days count down is starting from the later case.

3. My bf need to submit his form with our 1 set of photograph, sign the form in front of his district JPN, our 1 set of IC copy. Note: My presence is not necessary due to we are not register at his district JPN.

4. 21 days later, due to the ROM is being held at my district JPN, my bf need to pick up the form at his district JPN with the original letter of permission (anyone can help to collect the form as long as bring along the letter).

5. On the ROM date, my bf need to bring his JPN form together with the letter of permission(to prove that he is allowed to register at another JPN out of his district).
Bring along saksi original IC and IC copy as well.
Dress proper like you go to any government office. No jeans, no sport shoes, no sleeveless, no skirt that shorter than knee length, not allow to wear slack pants for women.

BTW, the procedure above are for those both couple are 21 years old and above rclxm9.gif

called to JPN Shah Alam on ROM procedure (in my case , my ROM at Tian Hou Temple, >21years old , non-muslim)

If both of u are from different state and would like to held ROM at KL/Selangor , better to proceed to Church/ Temple for ROM other than JPN office itself. You can save a lot of hassle.

Just need to go any JPN to fill up the JPN KC02 form , get a commissioner of oath to stamp , pay RM20 for registration fee and thats it ... bring along 2 passport size photos each of u and original MYKad.

If you insist to held ROM at JPN office(KL/ Selangor) , u need to change ur MyKad address to KL/ Selangor address. it will take at least 1 whole day.

It won't take whole day unless you are going to a JPN office with many people. I still think it is easier than finding a commisioner for oath and pay for that.

I have a question to ask and can't seem to find this answer anywhere ...If I was divorced before, will my marriage certificate show "divorced" status when the 2 witness sign it during day of solemnization? Will they be able to know or see the status?

I know that when submit application 21 days before need to attach the decree nisi absolute cert together with application form and that's fine because witness need not attend. . But I'm concerned as I'm not sure whether this divorce cert or any mention of my "divorced" status will also be visible to the witnesses on solemnization day.. cos I plan to keep this private between husband and wife only. Please help..

Hi guys! Just want to ask a few things about marriage. My partner and I decided to do a ROM and dinner on the same day in KL. However, we plan to do the Chinese ceremony in our hometown Perak before our ROM date. Question is, can I do the Chinese marriage first then only proceed to ROM? Means Chinese ceremony + small dinner reception at hometown first. Then after a week or so, KL ROM + dinner reception. Is it possible?

Now, this got me thinking...

Why will you want to hide such a fact from your witnesses?

Am not absolutely sure if it will appear or not but, the marriage cert doesn't show marital status of bride & groom, so, I guess it will not appear. Anyways, be sure that you really want to hide such facts from your witnesses. I believe there is a reason why they are your witness and if a divorce status is kept away from them, then they are probably not qualified to be your witness. Just my thoughts.

Happy married life to you.

Just go any branch of JPN

1. get the form
2. fill in necessary information
3. Take for commissioner of oath
4. back to JPN, register and paid the fees RM20 (if not mistaken) (all can be done on sameday)

then, booking date and venue, if u planning ROM at JPN, u can straight away do booking or else take all the receipts and form proceed to temple etc for booking.

Booking at thean hou temple,
1. pass the form and receipts from JPN
2. provide IC photocopy, witness IC photocopy & birth cert (both) photocopy
3. Book your date, they will inform u the time for register.
4. fees = RM80.00

No need to change IC address etc, as we both IC also not from KL/ Selangor

A quick check on JPN website reveals the answer:

QUOTE
Registration of marriage shall take place after 21 days + 1 day and not later than 6 months from the date of application.

More info under Application Requirements:
