QUOTE(calvin_ng @ Jun 3 2015, 03:32 PM) I was like you... when my old aircon kaput... end up after all research shortlist to 3 What's the model name for the Panasonic Deluxe Inverter? I saw SengHeng sell CS-S10RKH but panasonic website show CS-S10PKH? Any difference?1: Panasonic Inverter Deluxe 2: LG Inverter ArtCool 3: Sharp Plasmacluster Panasonic - Very Powerfull but not quiet at all... the air outlet vertical fin make cracking noise and can be heard if you turn on quiet mode... but I dont care since I full blast and it mask the cracking plastic noise... - I option for additional warranty from shengheng so total 5 years warranty on other and 6yrs for compressor... LG - One of the best interm of savings lowes kwh usage rated - Design is good... if I didnt get Panasonic I confirm get this one! - Best selling aircon in India (if you are interested..) - Very quiet - heard some complaint on reliability and service center being not able to solve some fault... mainly leakages Sharp - like the plasmacluster - highest power usage among 3 nearly 1600kw (inverter not efficient) - Like the design very small footprint - not very powerfull (airblade) quite weak... end up I choose Panasonic... |

QUOTE(calvin_ng @ Jun 3 2015, 03:55 PM) remember ask for additional warranty Quite upset by today electronics quality. I'm an electronic engineer who worked in panasonic for 5 years, recently switch to UK based vacuum cleaner company. As compare between Japanese and EU consumer product, i just have to say the part quality of the Japanese consumer device nowadays is pathetic, the QC, production quality is good, but the problem lies on the part itself. Panasonic is a struggle giant (although the best among the struggle giants in Japan), the main activity is VE for them, that's why the electronic component they used is mostly a dirt cheap low quality electronic part sourced from China. Although they did alot of accelerate reliability test during design stage, but still the real time degradation is very difficult to predict, that's why you will see alot of 'claimed' Japanese technology failed after short period.inverter aircon has history of frying the inverter circuit board... (depend on how dirty your house electrical current is) just to be safe ask for additional warranty coverage usually top up a little... From the outsider they see Panasonic is good and reliable brand, from an insider point of view, i actually not really confident with it. |

QUOTE(calvin_ng @ Jun 3 2015, 05:08 PM) yeah somehow Japan employ different standards... Japan Domestic Market product and Global product all different.. This is mainly due to consumer price demand...Domestic market demand premium quality and willing to pay, that's why they give premium quality. Imagine if a 1hp Panasonic inverter aircond need RM2.5k, how many Malaysian willing to pay for it?When buy fr Ebay the JDM product it is somehow more refine vs global ones... pity... same with car.. JDM has the best car and design... then boring already make it global... dammit As you said the V6 thingy is freaking expensive here, but this is the model that mainly support the company currently by Japan market. For them they don't mind at all. When i came across the thread here and read so many of you the aircond capacitor failed, board fried just within 5-7 years usage, how pathetic for such quality. |

But anyway, i will still go for Panasonic CS-S10RKH for my 1st aircond purchase this weekend, i have no choice, to me all those Japanese and Korean brand are just the same, just the matter of luck. Go for Panasonic mainly due to there are more users here, cheaper spare part, and maybe slightly better after sale service.
Actually i will move to my new house probably end of this year, i'm now rent a house. My urgent need is for my little baby girl, the sleeping room is just too hot for her to stay, so i have no choice to buy now, and dismantle to new house later. |

QUOTE(calvin_ng @ Jun 3 2015, 05:21 PM) problem with Dyson it is manufacture in Malaysia why so freaking expensive... They are selling the patented technology actually, precisely aero and mechanical technology that no one can surpass it, and not much user can appreciate the technology behind. That's why they can sell it at premium price, but they still selling well although not in here.I need to go Ebay and buy Dyson in USA shipped it here and savings of RM1K if you wanna mark up but this is overkill I'm not sure the unit from ebay is retail unit or unit from staff purchase. We actually can buy any Dyson model in half price with half period of warranty (retail 5 years warranty). Anyway, this is business decision, i'm just a little engineer that can do nothing on that. |

QUOTE(kimsim @ Jun 6 2015, 12:31 PM) Why need extended? Standard comes with 2/7 good than enough right. then u are lucky. My all never extended also has been usage over 6 yrs didn't repair any cent the 7 years warranty just for compressor motor, meaning after 2 years if the PCB is fried, u better change to new aircond. Anyway, add on 3 years more only 170, i think still worth it. |
