QUOTE(MjMax15 @ Oct 29 2014, 08:38 PM) Congrats v8 already the speaker grille does nothing to stop water going in. the seals inside the speaker acts as water proof seal. anyways try keep phone away from water, you may never know which seal will leak after long period of time. water has no friendsBut i got problem here The grill for loudspeaker seems want to come off already. Still stick but when rub rub can move lol. Im afraid my water resistant will compromise Some1 can suggest which gliue is suitable b4 it came off later |

QUOTE(SugarShae @ Nov 13 2014, 10:54 PM) Hi, does anyone here ever experience the notification panel keep sliding down and up and down... WITHOUT ME EVEN TOUCHING THE SCREEN? Sometimes it will even just stuck halfway of the screen, and I have to lock my phone and unlock it again to make it return to normal? Does anyone gets me? Everything seems fine but the notification panel seems to have a mind of its own to annoy me. Occurs randomly most of the time, and really a pain when I'm typing or watching video, and it happens. Any idea what's wrong? Help. either 1. screen dirty 2. screen protector disturb 3. digitizer problem |

as for waterproofing, once open the unit for repairs, no more waterproof, simple as that, even Sony SC
imo. if you want waterproof back. sell off your unit. get Z3 or Z2 since its a bargain now |

QUOTE(Bernard Yeo @ Nov 24 2014, 11:20 AM) My uncle's Z1 was sent for repair at Sony SC and they tested for waterproofing before returning to him. So they say..in another thread, the waterproof phone (Z2) was repaired due to water leak into the phone, the owner went back and test it in water, and the phone spoilt again and went for warranty again. Putting handphones into water is just asking for trouble, it may be waterproof today, one day the seals may fail and bye bye phone. btw. this has not been mentioned elsewhere.. if there is a leak, and it doesnt affect the main components (ie.. the battery and the power ic) yet you still can use like normal. it doesnt means that rust wont set in and damage the board in the future. just my opinion. Sony has ald acknowledge the failure of the flaps and are doing away with it on the Z4 |
