is it just me, or anyone of you also noticed that the camera capture quality degrades after several updates? bought my 920 during amber, then went black and the camera just doesnt do so well compared to when i first bought it, then after cyan it became worst. people are saying why lumia's camera sucks. that moment, my heart sank lol

Android 1.6-4.1 > WP7 - 8.1 (Black) > Android 4.4.4
There's too much I want to rant about but to keep it simple; there's just no reason to have WP now (at least from a normal user stand point) I'm not saying WP is bad, it's just the contenders have getting better. ART runtime on latest android on Moto G cementing my migration to android, leaving my lumia 920 behind. Now rocking 2013 Moto X I can say until MS fix the software issues on WP; both built in features and in term of 3rd party app support there's no way I'm going back. |

Not everyone has the latest Android. My Oppo still runs Android 4.2.2. and I don't know if it will ever receive the latest and the greatest Android. On the other hand my 830 already runs the latest Windows Phone 8.1.

That's why it will took a while or never for your phone to be updated. On the other hand, most stock or close to stock android phone receive latest update with short period of time. Before this you can only get them through Nexus phone or custom rom but now there is more android phone offered with stock/close to stock android interface at broader price range and most manufacturer nowadays are promising to deliver updates a soon as possible to their customer. On the other hand, I don't find WP update to be remarkable saves for latest flagship devices. Features that the update brings were already enjoyed by android user few generations ago and nothing much to be brag off. So I don't think you will missing much with the 4.2.2 android compared to WP8.1. |

So which top Android makers use stock Android right now? Not Samsung, and not HTC. I owned a Samsung before and I know their handsets not always running the greatest. On the other hand, Blu, a lesser-known, Windows Phone makers in the US just received latest Windows Phone update.
But I don't really care about running the greatest update. Just the support that I will get if I have problem and apps run well. Changed from android to windows because samsung galaxy ace was super laggy, couldn't even type out at some point no matter how much I typed and I hate the camera. Naturally I got myself a second hand lumia 1020. No regret ever since and the best deal ever...

I love integration. When windows 10 was announced, I told myself, wow, I might have to jump ship to Windows phone when it's released. I've always been intrigued with windows phone. When my siblings suggested to get mom a smartphone, I recommended the 520 so that I could play with it every other day too. But my siblings said better use android coz whole family is using it so if mom needs help, at least most of us would already be ok assist coz of familiarity with the os. So now her Moto G is already 1 year old, toting Lollipop as the os. I'm very pleased to know the phone is running the latest os much sooner than my OPO.
I hope windows phone would meet my needs in the future. "You know what, the galaxy w was so slow and the screen is lame and the camera is frustrating and the body is plastic and the design is boring and the ram is little and I would never buy Android again. Thank God I purchased this cool new iPhone 5".I was like" uhh, okay, good for you.." o_O |
