From my previous thread under Playstation section, it is always my excitement to share my knowledge with others. Kinda hard to find some time for me to make a proper tutorial. With my limited and basic English language I hope this guide that I share will somehow useful to you. So let's start it off.

How To Play Monster Hunter Frontier G on Playstation Vita.

This is a simple guide for those of you who’re like me that wanted to try and play MMOHunting game on your Playstation Vita. After some hardwork and understanding now I would like to share with you. Hope we can make a group to hunt together.



What is Monster Hunter Frontier G?

Basically is an online version of Monster Hunter game that we know for ages. I will not go through this. You can check it out your own via Wikipedia.


Why Playstation Vita?

Monster Hunter game was first introduce on console back in PS2 era. It was not a big hit until the game was ported out for portable consoles such as PSP and the recent 3DS. Now the online version has been ported to home consoles (Xbox360, PS3, WiiU) and even PC as well. So for me playing Monster Hunter on portable console has a feeling that is close to me.

When MHFG version for Playstation available for Playstation Vita?

It was confirmed that Playstation Vita version is available during Summer 2014. Currently there is only one server available. You can either getting the download version of the game or getting the physical copy with coupon and DLC.


The Golden Question. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO PLAY with PLAYSTATION VITA?

Here’s the one that you’re waiting for. What you need is just a few thing.

1) Fast internet connection.
2) A stable VPN connection.
3) Playstation Vita (any region of your console will do)
4) A PSN Japan (R2) account.
5) Physical/Download version of the game.
6) A credit/debit/prepaid card.


For the Purple Colour part, I couldn’t help you. You need to figure out yourself.
For the Blue Colour part, I suppose that I don’t need to spoonfeed you though.



Alternatively, you can join this Facebook group that’s active in this game. Till the next update.


Do share your in-game ID as well here so we can form a group. Cross platform is welcome.

How to register for Capcom Online Games ID?

This is one of the simple steps to follow.



1) Go to COG website.

2) From here, check on the left side of the red box. If you’re a new member click on the orange box on top of the green one.



3) Then you’ll be prompted with this page. Just fill up the necessary thing here and you’ll receive an email to comfirm your ID. From your email address simply just click the link and you’re good to go.

4) When you’re good to go, head on to this website. REMEMBER, IF YOU’RE LOOKING TO PLAY ON PSV, make sure the page that you visit is PSV site.



5) Now here comes the diversion. If :

a) You’re getting digital version, head on to Part 1
b) You’re getting physical version, head on to Part 2
c) Short tips is at the end of Part 2


6) As you’re familiar with online game, you need to pay subscription fees on the game. For COG games, the currency that they’re using is call CAP. THIS IS A VERY CRUCIAL PART AS I HAVE ALREADY DID SOME TRIAL AND ERROR OF THE METHOD. I will explain more of this payment method in Part 3

PART 1

- Once you click on the link, you’ll be prompted to this page



- As you can see this is the CAP currency that I will explain on Part 3.

- As a starter if you download the digital version, you are allowed to play and level up until HR2. Anything more than that you’ll be capped until you brought the HunterLife Cost (HLC). Choose which package that suits you.

- For first timer, you’ll have the promotion of first month which only cost you 500 Yen only.

- As you can see, due to the fact that you’re logging into PSV version, you can’t click to purchase it. You have to login to the webpage via your PSV and purchase it.

*** If you’re playing on your Vita, YOU NEED TO PURCHASE HLC VIA YOUR PSV. OR ELSE IT WILL BE CHARGED/RECOGNISED THAT YOU’RE PLAYING VIA PC. ***

- So how do you purchase it? Simply reload/topup your credit via credit card on your PC and purchase the CAP.
1 Yen = 1 CAP

- Head on to Part 3 for purchasing CAP via credit card.

Part 2

- For physical purchase will be kinda straight forward. Click on to the link and you’ll be prompted out to this page.




- I hope you know what to choose. After select your desired selection, login using your COG ID and you’ll be prompted to the next page



- This is what you called *My Page* in Japanese. Now in your physical copy, there’ll be some serial code. The first serial code is for your 60 day of HuntingLife Cost (HLC). All of the remaining code is for event code and some of the code requires you to hit HR100 then only you can claim the special armor/weapon.



- Click on the second selection and you’ll get to this page. Simply just input your 16 digit serial code and you’ll be getting a code (which is called coupon) for you to subscribe. Is a tedious work because you need to input twice.



- Head on to the third selection from your * My Page* then you’ll get to this part. Just imput your new serial code that’s been generated from the previous steps and click on the confirmation. From here you’ll get to have the acknowledgement that your code is successful to redeem.

- Now you’re good to go for online hunting. Head on to Part 3 for the instructions of purchasing CAP via credit card.


TIPS

1) You can accumulate your physical copy of 2 month HLC and the first month promo of 500 Yen purchase. Will show you the picture on Part 3
2) Instead of using the MHFG in-game browser on your PSV to purchase your CAP, use your PSV webpage to do it. It will be faster. You'll understand what i mean.

Part 3

*** THIS IS A VERY CRUCIAL PART FOR YOU TO FUND YOUR ACCOUNT. PLEASE GET THROUGH THIS TUTS THROUGHFULLY ***


1) This is the last part of the tutorial that I’d created. How can you continue your journey without paying your online game fees, right?

2) Head on to COG website and login. Once you’re done you’ll be clicking on the one that I’d shown you below





3) After that you’ll be getting a lot of Japanese words or agreement. Scroll down and click on the button of CAP charge as shown below.






4) From here you can see the options of your purchase (HLC and CAP value). DO NOTE THAT ALL YOUR TRANSACTION FOR YOUR ONLINE GAMING UNDER COG is using CAP currency.

5) If you’re paying from PC, the option that you have is using Credit/Debit/Prepaid card. Scroll down a little more then you’ll see some alternative paying method (which is mostly for Japan) and the infamous Webmoney.

6) Once you’d click all the necessary, then Congrats. You’d top up your CAP value under your COG ID account which gonna appear on the top just under your ID.

7) Now you’re good to go to play your game.


*** GENTLE REMINDER ***

- After you’re done with the funding, you’d nothing to do in this website. When you want to purchase the HLC and CAP, MAKE SURE YOU’RE DOING IT VIA YOUR PSV, NOT YOUR PC.

hi, do this forum still alive? i got a question about MHF-G Taiwan PC version...i can get into game, but after 5min, the screen will freeze, but the gameplay audio still normal...

any solution?

i believe my pc can support the game with full graphic on..pls help
