Hey guys, last week for the first time ever since i use celcom iphone 4s under package celcom special biz pi98 i received a msg from celcom saying that i have used up the 2gig data. The speed of 3g has then become slower than before. Have you guys experienced the same?

Before this, my connection never slowed down even though i used the 3g heavily, stream movies drama etc.

Is this something new that celcom is imposing ? Any advise on whether i should change my plan ? The contract for the phone is already over.

Same with me. I used celcom exec 1gb for 3+ years they never throttle my speed even after i used 3-4gb data. Last week suddenly receive sms saying i exceed my quota now speed is throttled already. I think they doing database clean up lol.

I think they want to be considered as new customer? Blue cube here in Sunway (Penang) also say the iphone only for new number. for existing customer they ask to go to celcom center. most probably they earn more commision for new customer? If you have gotten the phone than maybe direct contact celcom center to complaint then no need to port over to umobile first hehehe.

Got the 6+ since friday, existing celcom customer.

Till today the nano sim is still not active yet. Multiple phone calls, almost daily to 1111, issue not resolved.

Report made to the communications & multimedia commission. Let's see how long more celcom takes to solve this issue. Just a simple problem there have to check for so many days.

Bro, they are really taking their own sweet time, mine also same but i only call CS-1111 once and CS said they cant do anything bout it and told me to go straight to the blucube branch where i got the phone on launch day (6th Nov).. finally, the line activated on the 10th Nov (the day i walked in complained).. just to mention.. i registered new number so consider as new customer to celcom.. yours even worse coz existing customer also delay like mad.. vmad.gif

yeah, to be honest, the whole experience of having to wait for that micro sim to be activated is just disappointing.

Today is the 6th day since I got the phone but sim card is still unactive. Called celcom at 1111, was told the same thing again -> still in progress. Ask me to check with the blue cube I bought my phone as well. I called the blue cube, gave the fella nicely but he answered back saying that I still can use the old sim so there shouldn't be any issue. When asked for compensation he had the balls to ask me back what compensation do u want?

Any idea how I can escalate this issue? I ady lodged a report to the MCMC but their reply state that I'll have to wait for 7 days for celcom to reply before they will take further action. Read from LYN that celcom has launched 2 new plans yday and will be ready for sign up today, my guess all their technical team ppl are all occupied with this 2 new plan. Sigh.. wrong choice made.

Not too sure about that yet. Problem is only the nano sim is not active while my old micro sim is active. Probably they'll start charging the day the sim card is activated.

So which is better for prepaid at the moment, Celcom Xpax or Maxis Hotlink?
I checked their coverage maps and both seem to have 4G/LTE in the areas I frequent, but still am unsure which one provides better reliability. A lot of people have told me "Maxis always got problem one" but now it seems Celcom is the same as well.

If you want prepaid, it is all depend on your usage. What is your priority? call?SMS? or data?

For Celcom Prepaid, there are new Celcom IOX , which gives FREE 10 seconds with every call, 10 free games (useless) , and 3 x 10 minutes free Internet EVERY DAY

To get 4G/LTE, you need to subscribe to any mobile Internet as low as RM5/month (or no time limit at all)

As for 4G/LTE coverage,Celcom is awesome and good. For the speed, from my experience Celcom is better.

For Hotlink, the plan itself is awesome(free Internet as long as you top up, 64kbps only, enough for Whatsapp/Telegram, etc)

but if want 4G/LTE , need to subscribe to their mobile internet as low as RM30/month (got cheaper package for daily and weekly)

Its all depend on your usage.

That is for normal cases. The line I bought the 6+ with was a supp line and the new package activation is still in progress. That is why the new nano sim is still unactive.

My priority is Data mostly. I live in Singapore and have a Singapore line, so I only need a prepaid line for when I'm in Johor in the weekends visiting my mum. Her house has no internet anymore (she only cares about her Astro), so I tend to use a lot of data when I'm staying overnight for Youtube or iTunes movies and whatnot. Social networking apps aren't important to me. I'm still an old-fashioned e-mail/BBS kinda guy. I was thinking of the Celcom 2 GB or 4GB plans (without auto-renew), depending on my stay.

I only open the SMS to delete all those notification from celcom, promotion from various retailers etc...

Long gone the necessity of having JB phone to install BiteSMS...
