Ps: remember to keep 1-2 silences in your deck. Was amusing when I put a dreadstead under Taunt and the opponent didnt have Silence.

Pps: You can't silence the Dorothy Taunt feature (possibly bug). E.g. Your Ancient Watcher is a Taunt (right side of Dorothy), you silence it. You now may attack with it, but it is still a Taunt.

Agree, how do you define competitive? by spending do you mean Money or Time?
you can spend a lot of money, but only experience/time will teach you to be competitive

DECK:
You don't need all the cards in the game, but it helps if you have most of the top tier cards as Meta changes from time to time, and deck working this week might not be working well next few weeks.
Check out the top tier decks (Tier 1/Tier 2) every week via Tempostorm. If you are willing to spend, then get the cards required for the Top Tier 1 deck(s). See which playing style matches your own style, watch replays of players using those top decks and learn how each card works, and what decisions to make when in play.

p/s: you could be having a T1 deck, but if you don’t watch and learn, you won’t end up anywhere (I had a Maly Druid deck (currently Tier-1), and I thought it wasn’t that hard, but after 7 straight losses, I watched how other played it, and it improves the decision making in the match).

p/ps: Maly Druid is a skilled player’s deck, you need quite a bit of experience to play it as compared to Tempo Mage (IMHO). Bad decisions early on really punish you throughout the match.

TIME:
You will need lots and lots of time. Throughout the 2 years, my best attempt was rank 3, that was when I really tried and had put in a few hours a day, watching/learning, and playing. Most of the seasons I’m just content with Rank 10-12 (no time to play, just completing quests and stuff).

Catching up with the bandwagon... Just opened a few packs and got a waste of a Golden Legendary will probably dust this for Aya Blackpaw, got another useless legendary as well - Mayor Noggenfogger, more dust to create a better deck then!

I've been thinking about going PW, but lack Patches and Leeroy... now regretted crafting Aya, should have waited.
So now I'm on Aggro Shaman, but replaced Patches with Argent Horserider... until I get enough dust to craft Patches... thinking bout dusting some old and forgotten Legendaries like Ronin, Eadric, Fjola, Rend, Chromaggus and Skel Knight too should I?

It should be tied to your battleTag.
I switched phone once, on the mobile it doesn't really tell you which server you are on.
I panicked when it started me off new
I tried going to battlenet to check my battlenet account, doesn't really help either (I recall it doesn't say which region that game is on).
So, i tried logging on to all the regions one by one... low and behold, got my game back! still can't recall which region though (bad memory). Perhaps try one region by ome region, im sure you decks are still there as long as its tied to the battleTag.

I still do albeit not regularly - every 2 days, just to complete the quests.. lesser since they killed the small time buccaneer and Spirit Claws
New decks are coming in APR, still considering if I should waste RM 200 for the decks (might not find the time to play as often)...

For quests to be completed with friends, what i usually do is that after a game, I would add the opponent from the previous game, so this helps to get the regular people online for friendly quests...

so far Asia server still not as much bad mouthing (from my match experiences), that sounds like US server.
Do choose wisely as well, opponents that keep pressing "threaten" usually wont get an invite from me.
Not to say all players will accept, it is up to them, all you need are just a handful of good ones that always come online for you to finish up a quest or 2.
I do have a friend that always look me up for a quest, and I do the same as well, so far its working out fine for me.

Well I think the meta is not settled yet, so don't go dusting them yet (you can dust the extra copy though)
I got a Sherazin corpse flower, and Hemet Nesingwary. Wanted to dust them immediately, but held on to that urge.
Sherazin is now doing well with the miracle rogue and on Tier 1. Hemet on the other hand, im sure he might get to the top decks one day

I crafted both Rogue Quest and Kalimos which both i had regreted now.

Rogue quest was like only invincible the first few days, now I have no problems beating it with Miracle Rogue. At least Quest Rogue is still in Tier 1.
Kalimos is worse, anticipated it so much, its now in Tier-3

So hold on to your cards and dust first... let it settle for another month or so before dusting or crafting.

tbh i had no idea i was in Asia server until i changed my phone one year later so just kept playing
Didnt like US servers anyway, bad experience in battlenet games

me too (no interest in events), i enjoy playing casually with top tier cards
and try to figure out how come so many ppl in Ranks 20-15 have Tier 1 decks as well haha!

Events not really my thing, as long as the quests are done, and i have gold for decks

Don't really want to start all over again on other servers... no time as well.

My personal view, those card backs are just bragging rights that's all.
Same with all other limited edition ones... I'm OK with changing every month to the previous month's card back

Hi, I think it depends on how much effort/time you plan to invest in the game.

I've personally bought every expansion, every pre-pack, and I do own a lot of top tier decks. But by just having these things doesn't mean/guarantee top ranks...
it depends on how much time and effort you want to spend on the game to get to good ranks.
I have the top 5 decks in my deck list, but I usually just have time to play 1 or 2 matches a day, that leaves me around rank 12-15 most of the times.
Of course, if you have the money why not, it does help with getting all the cards in the top decks*. having analyzed the above, I've decided not to invest anymore $$$ for the pre-pack.
It doesn't matter since I don't have time to rank anyways.

* one other thing is that having a top deck doesn't mean you will win all matches, you need to watch videos, learn through experience, and still have luck to win matches.

They've also changed the logic behind opening the packs, so that should help a bit for FTP players.

This morning I opened 7 packs, some free, some brought for 100 gold... I must say luck seems to be on my side, with 4 Epics and 2 Legendries (Putricide and Thrall)...
will have to see how that meta goes, Thrall seems good with the Token Shaman for now.

So the question back to you, playing casual match, what's your target rank? that will decide if you should spend.

Probably good as well to let the meta settle a bit first after the expansion...
I'm taking a break as well, don't want to accidentally impulsively craft some "Rogue Quest" kind of hype card again...

Rouge Paladin? Pally with blushers? I wouldn't go near that

On a more serious note though, there is no exact best class, it depends on your play style and available cards.
However, according to Tempostorm, it seems to be leaning towards Druids in Tier-S.

Got myself 3+2 Legendries: The Darkness, Master Oakheart, and Togwaggle from opening packs, Marin and Rhok'delar for free.
Hopefully 6th one coming soon, been almost 20+ packs since the last legendary.
What did you get?

wow, I must have been having some bad luck in opening packs then! 3 Legendries (non gold!) out of 63 packs!

That's what I did, also saved up about 500 gold before the launch... perhaps you were the lucky one then, since I recall reading somewhere about 40 packs per legend is the norm.
Funny thing today, I did not get any quest, my quest board is empty! it was already empty yesterday evening. anyone experience the same?

I find it odd too, sometimes the quest resets at 12am, sometimes in the morning...
Well, I think the dry spell is over, finally opened a Sonya and a Golden Aluneth!!
Time to move on to Rogue and Mage decks...
