Just opened a Golden Ixilid, of all the cards, it has to be Ixilid!!

Should I dust Ixilid along with The Darkness and craft Anduin and Raza? Highlander Priest has been on the top for a few weeks now...

Yea, I know its another 2-3 months down the road though...
So far Aggro Pally and Tempo Rogue still doing well for me, so I'll put my crafting intentions on hold.
Besides, the whole bunch of JADE cards will be rotating out as well, so Ixlid might be the next meta, so will just keep it for now.

Moreover, if I DE my Ixlid, I will have a chance to re-open another Ixlid in the next few packs so no thanks

I think quite a few mechanics has been introduced since the days of Dr. Boom, like Inspire, Adapt, LifeSteal, Recruit, Rush, Echo...etc
New concepts like upgraded Hero Powers, Quests, Elemental minions.
You will also notice some of the most used classic cards have been retired to the Hall of Fame: Azure Drake, Ragnaros Firelord, Power-overwhelming and a few other cards, these are only usable in the Wild format.
So just need to catch up with the new ways of playing (checkout the Heartstone Twitch streams), additionally, since you would more or less be left with only Classic Cards now in standard, perhaps you can "invest" in both the Pre-Purchase + MEGA Bundle, that will get you a total of 130 Boomsday Packs!! Which should be sufficient (after dusting extras) to craft any decks on the top tier metas.

You can always stick to F2P just play casually, save up gold to buy packs, one pack-at-a-time!
Having that said, could be hard to even complete "Win" quests especially with just classic cards - unless its like play X number of class card quests.

Hero didn't die, hasn't died yet, that was one of the poorer matches - only had a clear screen cap of Gunspire on this one, others screen caps of it were blocked by hits. Once the Gunspire is out, it's usually OTK, haven't lost a match whenever I manage to whip the Gun spire out. Here's one of the better ones with a lot of armor to spare

Yes, it usually costs a bomb. So far I have only been so loyal to Blizzard (all my Blizzard Games like Starcraft, Warcraft & Diablo series are all Original, some Limited Edition). Have it been other Game Developers, I might not be as loyal not sure why though...
For HS, I usually only get the Expansion Starters (pre-Purchase), after that It's all gold for packs. There was only once, where I started to loose interest, and skipped the entire expansion. Blizzard is getting more generous nowadays, you will notice they giving away more Gold and Dust in the daily quests, so that in a way helps thoe FTP players.

The thing is, I personally believe that most players will usually have only 1-2 goto decks that they will always use for ranking.
Although the meta shifts from time to time, the main cards still sticks around. All you need is just sufficient dust for net-decking, and craft relevant cards. Same deck can easily take your through the entire month or more, so 50-60g a day still ok la. I still have enough dust for 2 Legends if I really wanted to craft any, but my current deck still works, so can save it til the meta changes.

In the past it was a 2 weeks event. According to Hearthstone DE's twitter, it will last until 30th July.

the new expansion i think was a hit and miss... new Dr Boom not as impactful as i would have thought (have a golden one though)... Priest meta is almost dead (and I got 2 of the new legendaries for priest!!)

The other reason (I suspect, cos it impacted me) was that they change the Rank requirements. At level 20+ now you will need 5 wins to move to the next level, that was a complete turn off personally, gone are the days where I could level 5-6 ranks in a day with just 3 wins each rank.

Yes, kinda sien, still logging in for the quest though.
