Guys,
Really need your help, have been googling for 2 hours but yet to crack the problem. It goes like this:

I am using Nano 2G Black. Today, when I dock it to USB cable, my itunes starts up, ipod icon showed up in the left-side bar. No problem, very usual.

So, when I click on my Ipod icon on the left (with the name of the ipod u gave during first time using itunes), I can see the songs of my Ipod appears in Itunes. Again, no problem.

But, when i try to click on those songs, i cannot select them. I browse through Library, yes I can select songs from Library, but not the songs from my Ipod!

Fine, then I wanted to transfer some songs from Library to Ipod, so i normally drag-n-drop. But now I cannot do that anymore. It seems like the Ipod is locked or something. I cannot update it either.

Already done Restore, newest firmware etc etc.

Please help?

im in same situation.
i dont remember exactly how i update my ipod but i think i go to my library and right click my songs~
and i cannot select my ipod list either. dono y
i used mac b4 and can but when i format my ipod to use on pc cannot.
i'll check back how i update later cuz im not at my pc right now~

have u guys set it to add songs manually?

hey we have exact same problem. so, did u manage to find the solution? the apple forum does not seem to be helpful in any way. I am using PC all this while.

yea i tried to add songs by drag-n-drop. Last time, i was able to do that easily, now i cannot even select the songs listed in itunes from ipod.

Any more heads up??

Maybe you have to try and redo the "manual" setting. Your iPod probably forgotten that it's under manual update. Turn it to auto update then back to manual and try again.

of course you cant select the songs manually (the songs in ipod are greyed out) unless you change the preference to "Manually add song" to your ipod.
