i read bout pana cz950 using lg made oled panel. it has similarity to plasma image retention problem, due to individual pixel aging.

Hello, little late but donno still can or not.
Currently i check got Mi Passive 3D spec which low low price. Then the idea come to me. Do my LED TV can use to see 3D?

http://www.cnet.com/products/panasonic-dmp-bdt230/

Direct to LED TV or need pass thru my panasonic-dmp-bdt230 which support 3D?
Sources 3D movie. .... DL... smile.gif hehehe

if tv without 3d function, gurantee cannot.

active 3d glass is the open-close shutter. passive 3d glass is green-red color differential.

Finally, today I bring my own Bluray Disc to the electrical store to test the Samsung 4K TV, and quantum dot Samsung SUHD 4K TV. There is a cheap 48" Full HD TV beside. The 4K TV is of 65", 60", and 55".

After comparing those high end and non high end TV, here's my thought:

1. 4K up-scaling is just a gimmick.
- The level of detail just look the same among the high end and non high end 4K TV, and also look the same on the 1080p TV.
- When load in the same material, they all look the same.

2. Motion Interpolation / 120Hz / 240Hz just look bad, even the Samsung SUHD 4K TV has mediocre processing.
- I don't turn on this feature on all of my TV that I buy, but these high end TV look worse than my 5 year old Plasma TV with motion interpolation turn on.
- Artifact is seen every where.
- I turn off all the motion interpolation on those TV hanging on the wall, then comes the next problem. (motion blur)

3. Everything that feel bad on LED LCD TV
- I have a relatively cheap 40" LED LCD TV, which I complain on the bad motion blur, bad picture noise handling, and poor viewing angle, these high end TV just look the same. I particularly picky on the motion blur caused by LCD, and all LCD TV at the wall exhibit the same behavior. I thought as those are movie blurring or motion judder, so I set the Bluray Player to output in 24p mode, the motion blur is still there. Judder and blur are so much pronounce on 4K TV.

Conclusion, plasma TV is still the best TV around.
Every LCD TV just look almost the same, no matter how they claim how high end they are.
This is verified when all are input with the same Bluray source.

lcd need 60hz conversion badly. playstation processor can solve it.

so far im still stay with st50 plasma

Finally i get a better picture by reverse the cable direction, picture become brighter, so i change the gamma to 2.6 it did not clip any grey shade.
No changes on sharpness, just motion and contrast for now. Will let it run for a while

So far after a few days of use, I am quite satisfied with the display quality. I do not demand very high quality as I mainly want a TV that have a decent display, and most importantly digital output for my soundbar.
Also, my TV is only going to be connected to Intel compute stick so I cant comment on how good TV1/TV2 broadcast etc.
Before my purchase I am deciding between this and Sony 40" TV but I chose this for spec/price value. I rarely see IPS display for 40" non-smart TV model.
Bought this in Penang where SEC is having a sale for this model.

40 inch tv are not IPS panel, no matter smart or not. im quite sure about it.

but , plasma cant display up to full hd , right ? btw , led's colour reproduction not good ? It's better than lcd, right ?

Led and lcd usually do not last long. I have had 1 lcd and 1 led spoiled in the past 5 yrs.
*
full hd got. im st50 owner too. pic are sharp at setting 0 after i tweak the power & cable. best for dark room usage, say bye to entry 4k models.
weakness are stated above + low brightness

led tv in low- mid market are white only, act as backlite instead of ccfl tube that contain mercury (not safe) & turn yellow.

white led save power it flicker in high frequency pwm pulse.
white led tv produce colour image by projecting brightness to liquid crystal layer. it can twist each pixel using electronic circuit so u see red green blue....
twisting process require time, there u got the delay 2ms 5ms 8ms

white led has wider colour patlette but our video content not yet catch up. so it appear ugly & inaccurate.

my house all 2 fat lcd still operate normally after 5 yr
1 slim led, 1 slim plasma (warranty panel) about 4yr age

I was told that led and lcd tv gt their own backlight life , is it true ?  hmm.gif

true.
led lifespan near 50k hour will drop to 50% of max brightness.

lcd is much less than led

Power supply module? The technician said it's panel problem. It's expensive to fix. So, I am offered to buy a new one at half price.
*
u said tv show vertical line, rite? means white led not spoil but that line of pixel rosak.
white led backlight spoil is total black out.

as led panel consist of several smaller sections. the tft on each pixel (a lot), white backlight, rgb filter, polarizer, horizontal +vertical driver.... etc
