Urghh...this movie is so dull. Like I said before, the good parts in this comes from the visual and world design which was lifted from the anime anyway. The action some which again lifted from the anime become so boring and just style over substance.
As for everything else --- the new story, the new characterization, the acting...fall flat on its face. F U Rupert Sanders.
5/10

cool, gonna watch it in IMAX 3D then
hungry for something Blade runner-ish before the real thing
Thank god that Blade Runner sequel will be directed by Denis Villeneuve
Overall it was a good movie. The visual was awesome. And the concept behind it is still there. Of course you can't adapt a perfectly good movie. But at least it make GITS famous now. It was not super bad like dragon Ball or avatar the last airbender. It was cool n it's the visual that I love.

On other things.... They butchered and mixed up every single thing there is in 1995 movie and GITS:SAC. I was in "WTF" moment from the first minute of this live-adaptation movie from angmoh
I have seen a lot of ppl bashing the show due to scarjo playing Major. But one thing that the movie have captured nicely is the concept that our soul or ghost is what truly define us. Not our skin colour, how we look like or what they refer to as our shell. So I dun see any problem with scarjo as Major. Cause it's just a shell.
Amazing movie nonetheless n if there's no support for it, I guess we won't be able to see much anime in the big screen anytime soon. It's actually a great promotion to the world what anime is. It's more than just cartoon.
I love this movie, especially the visual, personally I think the visual alone worth the admission price.
Only one thing i really felt disappointed, they didn't put that original theme music at opening assembling sequence, it only play out at the end credit, the worse part is : I was expect some super cool design end credit since the whole movie are so visually stunning, but nope... it just the boring plain black background & white text.....
Btw, anyone notice there’s a Malaysian actor in this movie ? the Chinese guy who handcuffed Major at the underground night club, he’s local singer / actor Pete Teo.

Was compiling reference material for a work related presentation...can't help this very old MV gave me more satisfaction than the movie on a whole. Do check out the director's (Chris Cunningham) other work cause back then his name was as relevant as David Fincher and Mark Romanek in the world of MVs.
Just got the chance to watch this movie, I think I am the only one here who love this movie? The visual is stunning, the original score is mindfck, I love the world setting and how some scene they get it 100% like the anime. Yes I do admit the plot is really simple, but to me it's just perfect. Disappointed not to catch it at the cinema cuz how bad people rate this movie that time. I gave it 4/5. This falls under mindfck scifi movie for me.
