Hi, i'm recently have rent a shop inside a shopping mall and now preparing the paper work to summit to the management. in the renovation application form, it's mentioned "i hereby to ensure that the above renovation works will not hinder the issuance of the certificate of fitness for occupation by the appropriate authorities". So, what it's means for certificate of fitness for occupation ya? could you please explain further, thanks!

Before your renovation works, the design of the building needs to conform to the safety standards (as per Uniform Building By Law) before being issued the Fitness for Occuupation. The above statement you said "i hereby to ensure that the above renovation works will not hinder the issuance of the certificate of fitness for occupation by the appropriate authorities" means that you guarantee that your renovation works will not cause the building to violate the safety standards.

Theoretical:
Examples of violations are partitioning your shop into smaller section which may or may not affect the fire safety regulations (see the point of sprinkler), blocking access to escape route etc.
