Hi there iwubpreve,

I've been attached to my current firm (interior design/renovation) close to 3 years now. When I joined, I applied and started in the accounts(finance) department, less than a year in the HR job fell on my lap as well.
In year 2, I find myself going down to the sites to monitor and co-ordinate labor & material. I could still cope up till there, but now - I'm also involved in pre & post-tender works (including defect follow up from projects long ago).

I have no background in construction/quantity surveying and I'm struggling with pre & post-tender works. Is there anyway to grasp it any faster? (maybe a course for Quantity Surveying / Construction Management would help? )

Quick one,

Landed house, single story end-lot - talking about the house entry (the door, not the main gate).

Usually there is one each on the front, your main entrance into the house and one at the back (the one facing the back lorong).

I understand there is a need for 2 entry/exit point because in case of emergency got better chances of escaping or if 1 entry point is blocked off.

Can I relocate the rear door to the side of the house instead ? So it no longer facing the back lorong. As below:
Does it break any law ?

Do consider of direct air flow circulation. That's why most houses designed by architects have opening opposite each other.

air flow should be ok as we intend to replace the back-door with windows smile.gif
I would think this is hardly practiced in most terrace houses sweat.gif

Quick one,

I'm not from construction background in terms of Education, where is the most cost-effective place that offers lessons on AUTO-CAD for layout and shop drawings ? (working in ID firm)

I have so far managed to learn the very basics of MS Project and Primavera P6 based purely on the tutorials available on YOUTUBE.

But for AUTOCad I'd prefer to have proper class as it looks complicated, saw a few places on Google search that offer 1-2days courses at RM1K++, don't feel comfortable with those courses as it's a very short course (almost like those CIDB 1-day kursus) but at very steep price (yes, forking out from my own pocket, not company sponsored).

Just trying our luck here - if wrong thread, please direct me to the correct one - thx ya.

Reno is done with proper CCC by dbkl, and we've been staying for a year plus now - which insurance should we get to cover/protect us against claims from immediate neighbor that claim their house is NOW starting to show damages they claim is from the reno more than a years ago.

minor touch up and paint were already done for them during the reno, which they also accepted.
