If you look at Glory of Losers Manga they had explained more detail on how Wing Zero got its wing. The initial form of Wing Zero was depicted as the Wing Gundam Proto Zero (which is Hajime Katoki's minor redesign of the TV version). Subsequently, the suit was severely damaged and rebuilt by Mike Howard into the Wing Zero Custom, with the wings originating from the Tallgeese Flugel. There you go with angel wings in EW. |

Here a more comprehensive gundam tree i made. 
EW basically replaces the gundam designs and left the storyline untouched. Glory of Losers is a retell of the TV version storyline with details and filler making the story more whole. Timeline as below EW:Glory of Losers and TV version -> EW movie -> Frozen Teardrop |

IBO plot pacing is horrible, way too slow
I watched so many slow pace anime and most of them get better at episode 03-05
IBO is currently at episode 09 and yet no much excitement, like oath contract ceremony take the damn 24 minutes away and wasted.
Should just make it in 10 minutes only. The characters development however getting better but damn why should we focus on minor one?
If I going to rate this anime (so far), I will give it B+/B

Another talking episode, why am I not surprised?
I won't even surprised if the battle next episode consists of "Enemy has reinforcement. Gusion is covering us. RETREAT RETREAT"and then drag on few more episodes

Well Iron Blooded Orphans emphasizes on the human drama than the Gundam, just like when I watch Sidonia No Kishi, mecha is just something related and not the main point.
I like it this way because after 00 & Unicorn I don't have any other interesting Gundam anime to watch, Age and GBF are just too... well I'll keep it to myself.

This series was aimed at kids and air at prime time I can understand if this was aimed for older audience like Unicorn and Origin, but kids probably wont find this enjoyable if there are less Gundam/mobile suit action.. even the plot wrecked G-Reconguista I personally feel better than IBO because they balanced the plot and action |
