IMO, the best way to perform cover swap:

After using various casing including Diztronic, original OPO and 3rd party casing, the best I feel is still no casing. All casings add bulk to the already large phone and make it more uncomfortable to use. I do however put it inside a leather pouch when I'm not using it for protection. On standby I also ordered Cynogenmod swapstyle cover from Taobao, only rm30+ just in case I damage the original one. If OPO removes the capacitive keys for next model and reduce the height by 1cm it will be just nice.

Btw, does anyone know how to spot the difference between International version and 'converted' International version with replacement cover. If both use cm11s 38r, how do u know which is which just by comparing the identical outlook and identical software?

basically no way to tell the difference, unless you:

- go to USA and test out the LTE
- or find an app that detects all the supported network bands in the phone (which i have yet to discover such app)

the giveaway is WCDMA Band 4, which is available on the international set, but not on China set.

follow the guide until step 13, and stop there. that should suffice to detect all the GSM and WDCMA bands on the phone.

AFAIK a black wallpaper can save a few pinches of you battery %. But if I'm not wrong this method only works on AMOLED type of displays. Not sure if it will work on the OPO or not.. hmm.... brbgoogle Extra read here.

yeah. maybe. i use franco kernel. apart from the above tweaks, i also use greenify + unbounce (now known as LiOn Tamer) + AT google play services tweak.

still waiting to meet xxdesire . i believe she he can tweak my phone more.

I see then for practical purpose hard to tell, since the Cynogenmod back covers are very affordable one can easily convert to international version already

Funny thing is even on stock kernel without tweaking I can get same if not better battery life dafuq

If I wanna switch from AK to franco I just flash the franco zip right no need to revert to stock?

I love live wallpaper too but the community doesn't churn out nice ones, my fav also phase beam only

AK upon flash without further tweaks is more for performance
FK upon flash without further tweaks is more for battery saving

if you want to go back and forth between AK and FK, you need to flash stock kernel + revert the thermal bin back to stock

FK <=> stock <=> AK
