Hey guys, new owner of GE72 6QC here.
Got a few questions here.

Does anyone knows how to upgrade the RAM and SSD without voiding the warranty ?
Sending it to the service center is out of the question as my location is in Sabah.

I'm planning to migrate my OS to a SSD so I'm wondering how would the activation process works as these new laptops don't have any windows key stickers on the bottom anymore. Did some research online and most of them said it was automatic.
I updated a mac before and it was automatic too until it failed to connect to the server. I was screwed over once and don't want to waste this legit windows 10 key.

Hey thanks for the reply guys. Just ordered the SSD and decided on regular m.2 drive instead of NVME.

A clean install is way too much hassle for me so I think I'll live with the bloatware.

Read online that some people where experiencing slow down on their cloned SSD drives. Granted is was NVME drives. How true is this Dannyoski ? Have you experienced anything similar ? Did you tried running some benchmarks ?

Don't make same mistake as me. Be sure to get the 2280 size. 2260 does not fit at all.

BTW what is the correct caddy size for GE72 6QC ? 12mm or 9mm ?

Anyways for those who wants to upgrade to a m.2 storage, get the 2280 size. I made the mistake of getting the wrong size. Granted I did some googling and didn't find any info even in the official website.

Speaking of upgrading storage, anyone has any info about the caddy size for GE72 6QC ? Apparently there is two size now for the caddy. 12.7mm and 9mm if not mistaken lah.

i went for 2260 because I thought smaller form factor for laptop. Boy was I wrong. End up getto double tape on the mobo.

As a long standing fan of AMD, it's sad to read this. I want to like AMD for the value for money they offer.
But after switching camps, I went from full desktop AMD CPU and GPU to laptop intel+AMD GPU to the darkside.

All I can say is AMD products are inferior in everyway. Very hard to swallow as a AMD enthusiast. Too much heat and last gen performance.

Unless you want an oven in your room or a live inside a vacuum cleaner, there is no point using their products anymore.

The only way AMD can make a comeback in a big way is Intel or Nvidia gets lazy.

Guessing thats why MSI are steering clear of AMD ?

Any sifu here know the 2.5 HHD height limit on GE72 6QC ? I want to fit a 3/4 TB drive but most of them are 15mm in height and I don't want to make the same mistake again with the m.2 drives.
