QUOTE(e_mc_square @ Feb 22 2015, 11:10 PM) U can always use software to monitor the temperature. I like to use HWinfo. Together with RTSS u can do in game temperature monitoring too. Can use MSI Afterburner to monitor too. Edit: By the way, do you think it's a good idea to trade in a 1 month old MSI GE60 Apache Pro for the MSI GE62? Sort of regretted getting the MSI GE60 rather than than the newer one. Should have done more research before purchasing. This post has been edited by Adrian_Alastair: Feb 24 2015, 05:34 AM

QUOTE(pandi @ Mar 14 2015, 07:00 PM) Planning to get a GE62 2QF . Any advises? Owner of both GE60 and GE72. I'm very satisfied with the latest GE series. Having dual fan is a huge step up from previous GE(60 & 70) models, you no longer need to suffer from sweaty palms due to the heat while gaming or running anything intensive. My previous GE60 model had some issues with the microphone, upon checking online older generation of MSI laptops have poor mic volumes but this is no longer an issue with the GE72. If you have the funds, definitely go for the 970M model. The only dislike I have for the laptop is the change in fonts of the keyboard as it's not the standard keyboard font, you'll get used to it eventually after a while. Overall it's a fantastic laptop.

Can someone please explain to me how Super Raid 2 works? http://event.msi.com/nb/faq/q4.htmlDoes it mean that I need to have 2 SSDs installed in order to take advantage of this feature?

QUOTE(aryas @ Mar 26 2015, 12:00 PM) hi all, need suggestion or advice.. im going to purchase a msi ge series very soon... as my max budget is rm5k, im planing to purchase GE72 2QD (rm4599 extra for any upgrade maybe), or i just get the GE70 2QE (rm4299 extra also can use for upgrade) .. i know the issue here is the heating prob differ for this 2 model... please suggest me what upgrade that i could get... i did prefer larger screen..easier for working with my autocad and 3dmax stuffs.. im not so hardcore gamer anyway... just playing dota or 1 or 2 high reso game like watch dog or battlefield. alternative i may look into GE62 2QE too.. smaller screen though thank you in advance I've owned the GE60 15" and currently using GE72 17" laptop. In terms of cooling, the latest model with dual fan does wonders. Under heavy load I'm getting an average of 78c with cooler boost turned on, while with the GE60 you'll get an average of 85c. Since you'll be using this for working I think 17" is the way to go, ram & SSD upgrades would cost about RM500. Light or casual gaming, the 960m would do.

QUOTE(vincentlaw @ Apr 4 2015, 08:39 PM) so i tried to use the turbo boost cooler button and i can feel the right fan spinning now. However the RIGHT FAN is not as strong as LEFT FAN. so my question is 1. why left fan is more intense compare to right fan? 2. why at maximum, with turbo boost cooler, both fan does not have same max RPM? You're definitely not the only one. Same deal with my GE72. Right fan is not as loud or not as fast as left fan. Perhaps that is a design decision, as to exactly why I have no idea.

QUOTE(koopa @ Apr 6 2015, 04:34 AM) GS series dosen't have heat sink like the GT series. So they put in 2 fans. Left side is for GPU and right is for CPU. When you play games that require high graphics, the left fan willl work harder. If you are doing processor related work like opening 100 browsers, the right fan will run faster. Thanks for the explanation

QUOTE(Decky @ Apr 7 2015, 10:03 PM) It doesnt matter boys. Coming from 5200RPM to SSD already feels like I'm moving from a bicycle to a ferrari haha. Quite impressed by how sturdy the design is, but IDK which bloatware to remove and what not ): BTW I can't seem to be able to change my backlight, steel series engine says that that my GE62 isn't connected... although I'm typing with it right now I experienced the exact same thing with my GE72. Fixed the problem after updating SSE3 from SS website.

Hi, want to ask about the MSI Afterburner app. This is how it is on my GE72, it is not detecting any GPU temperature at all. Is this normal? Is there a setting that I need to configure? I'm using the latest MSI Afterburner version.

Hi, today noticed a small stripe/dead pixel about half an inch showing up at the middle of my screen (MSI GE72). Does the 1 year warranty cover screen replacements? If not how much would it cost to replace the whole screen?

QUOTE(tachlio @ Oct 18 2015, 10:33 PM) instructions manual dead pixal
I discovered it's actually not dead pixel. Tapping on the back of the screen resulted in it shifting. Managed to tapped it out of the screen and into the bezel.

QUOTE(Skisz @ Dec 6 2015, 01:59 AM) This is so frustrationg. Look at how worse the screen is. It is on the so-called "True Colour" SRGB mode, 100% brightness. Its on the right side btw. Should I do something? Hi,I'm having the same issue with my GT72 model. I'll get a yellowish/reddish tint on the the screen whenever the background is pure white. The new line of GE models don't seem to have this issue though as I've compared the models side by side. I managed to fix this problem by calibrating screen colour manually, by reducing the red hue by slightly. You can just delete whatever "True Color" application installed on the PE line, in my honest opinion it's complete garbage and just a gimmick.

QUOTE(androidfans @ Dec 7 2015, 11:50 AM) Gt 72 old gen is with tn panel, no matter how u calibrate, its view angle still limited Oh, I should have been more specific. I was just addressing the colours, not really the viewing angle from what I saw in the screenshot. I have no issues with the viewing angle. But the display and colors definitely noticeably worse in the last gen GT model compared to newest GE line. After calibrating I'm getting pure whites, no longer a sickly red tint when I got it out from the box.
