Possibly but I think you take way more damage as you would be 2 level lower than the mob iinm.

I have an idea. Considering Atheon's boss part is relatively easier compare to templar and the part before that, why not we just start from there. I am sure we can find someone on destinylfg that's at the last part would let one of us join their fireteam, get the checkpoint then leave. We then continue from that point with our own fireteam. Come discuss

well you can try, with only 28/29 i can only get past the front door because the enemy is not level 30. The templar part

is when lvl 30 enemy come pouring in.

Tried the earth kill order 4 times, all 4 times got the same legendary helmet which dismantled into junks

Go for Vanguard Strikes, I guess, since it's giving good loot since the latest patch.
While doing it you get Vanguard Marks, save it to buy some legendary items from the Vanguard.
Also can go for Crucible but atm Vanguard Strike is giving a lot of good loot.
Just played a few times and was lucky to get a few legendary engrams.

Lucky la now all legendary engram is legendary items. Back when I start, it only gives rare items.
You can start with rare blue gear with lvl20 and upgrade them all so you can at least reach lvl24 if I remember correctly.
Also remember to do weekly strikes and daily, so you can get strange coins and ascendant material for exotic gear from Xur and upgrade material for legendary items in the future.
