Dear all, advice needed and appreciated.

My car was hit lightly at the bumper by a motorcyclist when I stopped at turning junction to give way to oncoming traffic using the main road. The motorcyclist and my car are ok as it was just a minor bump. He apologised to me and we both moved on. My rear video recorder captured the whole thing clearly - my car slowing to a halt and somehow the motorcyclist was dreaming and his instinctive reaction was to raise his hand to apologise to me.

Called up my insurance company and was advised to lodge a police report to protect myself against any future claim from the motorcyclist.

What should I write in the report? I read on LYN that if I don't wish to claim or get him into trouble (since he already apologised), I should omit his vehicle registration number in the report. However, if there is a claim and my video is needed and it shows the number clearly, will I get into trouble for making false report?
Thank you in advance.

your insurance ask u to do this so that later to prevent him make fictitious report,

i.e. fake claims by using your car as victim.
in the report, cakap,
tujuan laporan ini adalah atas nasihat pihak insurans untuk melindungi diri saya dari tuntutan insurans dari pihak motorsikal.

and dont foget to include, penunggang motorsikal tidak mengalami kecerderaan dan meminta maaf atas kecuaian nya,
injury is the onethat  they can fake.

Thank you so much for your advice. A few more questions:
1. should I mention his motorcycle registration number in the report?
2. after the report is made, what would be my next course of action and follow up (assuming the motorcyclist does *not* file a claim)? Do I just let it be or do I need to buy any report?

Thank you.

MCO - loss of use. How?

Before MCO and corona virus, my car got accident, then the aunty who bang my car didnt report police, after all the hassle and after MCO. Total loss of use in my definition is 100 days (days since it enter workshop)
I ask the other party insurance to compensate RM 100/day x 100 since my car is brand new, and i am paying that much in installment. this is aside from all the taxi i am paying during this period.
But after few months they reply me say compensate RM 120.00 in total only.. 120 is like 3 days taxi fare only.
how to fight this?

Feel bullied, since its not my fault there is a delay, that aunty dont want report police, make the workshop dont want to repair cause insurance side pending.
sad la.. this is corporate bully MSI-G

Someone mentioned that loss of use only covers the actual number of days that are required to repair the car

pro tip. next time when u renew the insurance, add your name under additional named driver.

My policy has this waiver of excess for non-named drivers. When I renewed, the agent said no need to add named drivers as all will be covered without involving excess.

This is not standard among all insurance companies?
