was rear ended a couple days back, other driver agree to go report, told him that im gonna claim his insurance, he agreed,
since he bang into my car, us both went to report at police station, exchanged contact number, sent my car back to dealer body and paint,
intend to claim lost of usage, so, should i inform the opposite driver's insurance company beforehand ?

by submitting claim, do you mean i have to submit a letter and all the relevant paperwork to the insurance company ?
don't think dealer B&P got any runner for this, they even ask me to go collect the accident result / report myself

15/2 - car got rear ended, sent into workshop
7/3 - finished repair, claim under OD-KFK

double checked with workshop, whether can claim loss of usage, they say can, even printed out a notice of claim for me, so, after handover the docs to insurance company, just wait for their news ?

mine, just noticed that the letter doesn't have any contact method other than address, guess i'll have to re-type the letter myself,
the thing is, the workshop clerk typed RM50 x 7 days, but my car is a 1.5, so, should i just leave it as it is, or should i change it to RM30 x 7 days ?

update on previous LOU claim,
-sent over a copy of all the related docs to the insurance company's HQ in KL by courier
-the next day, shoot them another email with softcopy, directed to motor claim dept
-dept manager reply claim in process
-waited for 3 weeks, not even a call or email
-shoot another email, they say need to wait for the insured to notify them, wait for 1 more week
-in the end, they come up with an offer of 4 x rm30, i refused and propose for 7 x rm30, told them the car were in the workshop for 1 month, and the adjuster clearly written that the repair will take 7 days, request them to make it 7 x rm30, they agree, sent over an offer letter, e-payment authorization form to me, filled it, and wait for the money to be bank in to my acc

all together took 1 and half month for me to get the money

friend's car got rear ended by viva yesterday, driven by a 60+ yo uncle, uncle say need to fetch kid from school, forgot his number, and took friend's number, say will go report, then sped off

Now, almost 24 hours since the accident, uncle still no report yet, friend's car is under berjaya sompo, cover third party, found out uncle's car is under Tune, comprehensive insu

contacted tune local branch, didnt provide much help, just say the policy is bought in johor branch, ask friend call johor branch, friend went to berjaya's panel wshop, wshop say if uncle no report, he wont be able to claim

cases like this can be classified as hit n run right ?
read about going to oath commissioner and jpj in previous pages, no quite understand, any sifu can further clarify on this ?

friend went all sherlock holmes on uncle and managed to dig up uncle's son number, and persuaded uncle to go report earlier today
